I would grab a western magazine if you can and look up ads.  Then search the brands to see who carries them near you.  I work in a western-wear store in VA and most brands will have a range of styles.  Obviously your better boots will be more expensive, but everything’s out there.  Here are the brands we carry for a start

PS  Be sure to go to a good store and let them fit you (i.e. listen to them!)  Boots don’t fit like regular shoes and also take time to break in.  the store clerks can help make sure they’re comfortable!

I use http://www.boutiques.com/ for all of my searching! You can sort by color, size, style, anything! All of the girls are wearing boots for our wedding too! Good luck!

Try Sheplers!

I used to work there and they have some really cute boots. I love BMs in cowboy boots! =)

I know you probably think this suggestion is gross but I got an awesome pair off of ebay that are new. You might want to look.

I dont think it’s tacky at all [and if so, then call me tacky 🙂 ] We are getting married on a historic farm, and walking in heels in the grass is not going to be fun. Plus, I’m not a heels kinda girl [unless I have to for work]. It depends on your dress, but I can’t ever remember the bride’s shoes from any wedding that I’ve gone to or been in….so If it fits your style, then go for it!

@retreadbride: good thinking 🙂 Especially since a few of the girls would never be caught dead in boots other than to wear them for our wedding. Thanks for the heads up!!

Nearly every town, large or small, has a western wear store or two. They will be much cheaper than online stores or catalogs since you won;t have to pay shipping.

@KatNYC2011: I second this. My Ariats look just like the picture and are super comfy. And they hold up really well.

I’m wearing my boots at the reception for sure, and all my BM’s are horse gals except one so they likely will too…

I bought 2 pairs of Airat Fat Baby’s from Sheplers when I was in TX 5 years ago, and they are still in great shape and I wear them to work every day.  I do NOT wear them to the barn though, my Arialt barn boots are destroyed in less than 6 months so I won’t buy them any more for that purpose.

We are getting married outside in a park, and I am freaking over the heel thing too, so may go for a new pair of boots for the ceremony as well as reception.  Honestly, once they are broken in, they are SO comfy.
