Hi! I need help… 🙁
I thought all this wedding stuff was over for me, but it’s not (ugh)! I got married a little over a year ago and I still don’t have my final pictures. Thanks to awful weather on our wedding day, we could not get any nice pictures. All of our pictures looked as if they were taken with a regular P&S camera by a random stranger. I got a little bit (let’s say a lot) frustrated when I saw the raw ones, to the point, that I didn’t want to deal with them (until now). We talked to our photographer, and we all agreed that the pictures weren’t great. Therefore, he suggested taking some pictures of us again (outdoors, beach, etc…). He highly recommended it (we’re not being charged extra), not only because he wanted us to be satisfied, but also because he needs some creative pictures to give the album that special “umph”.
I still have my dress, shoes, hairpiece, etc… but I don’t know if I need my hair, make-up and everything else to be the same as on our wedding day. I also don’t want to have to rent a tux again for husband. Should the pictures be casual looking, as in natural/carefree? Any recommendations? I have no clue on what to do… I just don’t want to overthink it and drive myself crazy over it.
Any suggestions??? Here’s a link of my wedding video (since I don’t have pics), to give more or less an idea of how we looked like: http://vimeo.com/27008482.
I’d appreciate any input on this! Thank you! 🙂

We are doing pics next month too after our wedding last year, ugh, long story. Since we bought DHs suit he is just going to wear that, but you can get one for around $150 at burlington and they look formal or you can do more casual ones with him in just a suit or nice slacks and shirt looks good too. I am getting my hair and makeup done, but we didn’t get any getting ready shots so we are redoing those also. I suggest going through pinterest or other wedding sites and printing up ones that you really like and taking those to your photographer and talking with them and make a list together. I have tons and tons saved on my pinterest board that I want to take. I almost think that we are kind of lucky, we get to wear our dresses again and I am kind of excited about that.

Wow, your video is awesome!
I would do a mix of fun casual ones, and a few formal framers. It seems like you and your Darling Husband are pretty laid back so I would go for something fun!

@tksjewelry: That is true! I felt bad spending $$ on my dress only to wear it once, but now I feel good about wearing it again. What I don’t feel good about is being a few pounds heavier than before, hahaha! I might get him to wear a suit he has and maybe get him a bowtie the same color as the one he wore. I’ll have to dig through pinterest (noooo 🙁 ), too! Thank you 🙂

I would get really dressed up like it is your wedding. I’d get your hair and make-up done, if it were me, and have your hubby wear a suit. The pictures will be forever and I’ve never regretted looking good, but I have regretted slacking off. Best of luck with the redo shoot 🙂

I personally think you wont regret doing more formal pictures!

Thank you everyone!
I think I’m going to make an appointment and get my hair/makeup done as close as it was on my wedding day. I googled “wedding re-shoot” (I hadn’t thought of googling that term before!) and found a bunch of articles as well. I felt relieved that I’m not the only one who has had this type of situation before.
Let’s see how it goes! 🙂
