Yeah, when I first got on here, I was 2 years away from my wedding. We moved the date a few months closer (6 months), and now I’m about 6 months away. Time flies fast when you’re wedding planning.

Oh, thank goodness! Hey, y’all! I’m so glad to find this thread! We live in Auburn (war eagle) and are going to be getting married in Pike County, south of Troy at my soon-to-be in-laws. They live on a bunch of land on south Alabamas highest ridge. I have my dress (!!!) but wedding date is to be determined because of football schedules. My Fiance works for Auburn, so we;re planning around that. So glad that I have a reference board for AL now!

hey girls just checking in and seeing how is everybody doing? how is the wedding planning going? We are just 7 weeks away from the Big Day and I am super excited/ansy and everything else all at once. We have a lot of family members pitching in and really helping us out. So I can’t wait to see how everything comes together and we just had our engagement/pre vow renewal photo session two weeks ago and I can’t wait to get the prints. I pray all is going well with you guys and hello @dtz09 welcome to the board. I am a war eagle fan too.

hey girls how are is everybody doing? Good I hope. We are just 17 days away from the big day and I am already stalking the 15 day extended weather forecast because I am really hoping that our garden themed ceremony can take place outside. *Keeping my fingers crossed* any new wedding updates anybody have to share I am still trying to find a really good favor idea for my guests and right now I am torn between oreo truffles or Kiss Roses..both of which would have to be another diy project added to my lists so do you guys have any fun ideas you are using for favors?

Hi southern gals! So glad I found this thread! I’m from Alabama as well, but currently live out of the country. We are getting married in AL though, since that’s where all my family lives. It’s a little overwhelming trying to plan a wedding from out of town…thankfully I have almost a year to get everything straightened out! Hope everybody’s planning is going fabulous!
Btw you have no idea how happy it makes me to see ppl messaging about football…you never appreciate what SEC football is about until you live in a place where no one cares about the games on saturday. It’s really strange when you’ve been raised where Alabama football is close to a religion:)

The picures are in the last comment. That place is actually our second choice right now. We may have someone with an estate [ie: mansion- seriously] who will let us use it for free. We’ve yet to talk to them, but my fingers are crossed for a free venue where we can provide our own alcohol!
