Anyone still following this thread? I live in Boston but am from Kinderhook, NY and looking to get married in the Albany/Saratoga area May 2013. My fiance and I are going to NY this weekend to look at Franklin Plaza, 11 North Pearl, and possibly Canfield Casino and Key Hall at Proctor’s. If anyone has anymore suggestions or comments it would be much appreciated! We are hoping to choose a venue that Classe Catering will be able to cater, as we’ve already designed a menu with them (my fiance is a chef)

Albany bride here, too! Getting married in downtown Albany.
I have my venders set but I haven’t decided on makeup/hair person yet…Any ideas? I wanted to keep the costs under $150 for both!

- Wedding: June 2012 - Franklin Plaza
@Coveyla: How was your search? We’re getting married in June at Franklin Plaza and so far I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them!!
Haven’t decided on hair/makeup yet. I was thinking of going with Make Me Fabulous. If you go to their salon I think it’s $175 for hair and makeup.

Albany bride here! Actually, Altamont, my hometown but close enough. We’re getting married at the Altamont Manor. Did anyone go to a bridal boutique in Albany? I have no clue where to go to look for my dress.
Classe Catering did my Bat Mitzvah and their food was delicious!

We’re using Classe Catering and Events (so they’ll do our food and flowers and decor) and I think they’ve been one of the better options we’ve snapped up. I love working with them!

@coyote: I used MMF for my makeup and they were fantastic! I highly recommend them.
Angelas Bridal is right on Western in Guilderland. I didn’t use them but I’ve heard good things. If you’re willing to drive a bit, Danielle’s Bridal in Saratoga is amazing. I got my dress as well as all Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses there and had such a great experience.

@RochelleED: As I said above, MMF is great though I only had them for my MU so I can’t really comment on the hair (but their work does look lovely). I used Timeless Updo’s for my hair and was absolutely blown away. She not only did my hair but also all of my BM’s and my Mother-In-Law and everyone looked incredible.

Saratoga Bride! My wedding is in Saratoga, at St. Pauls Church on Lake Ave, and my reception is in schuylerville.

@Mrslawyer2bee: I got my dress, bridesmaid dresses, and tuxes all from Ferry Formals in Schenectady on Union street. They have both couture dresses, as well as ones more reasonable priced, but still gorgeous. Mine was just about $800. There is also Angelas Bridal on Western Ave in Albany, Bridals by Yvonne in Latham on route 9. Those were my favorite 3 boutiques I visited.
