Hi Bees! I am new here, and this is my very first post. π I bought my dress a few weeks ago, and I am so in love…it is the Allure 8901, in Ivory. I bought it right off the rack as it was brand new in the store, I was the only bride to have tried it on, it was the right size, and it fit PERFECTLY with no need for any alterations! There is just one little catch…I had no idea I’d be walking out of the store with my dress in hand, so I didn’t bring a camera and have NO pictures of myself in it. Sad, right?
So, I figure the next best thing might be to see other beautiful brides rocking it! Do any of you lovely ladies have a picture of yourselves in this breathtaking gown? π Can I see? π It doesn’t matter if it was ultimately the dress that you chose…I’d just like to see my dress on some real ladies. I’m tired of looking at it on a model! Haha!

@CookieCharmer: Congratulations on finding your dress!! I know you saw my wedding photo posts, but here are some other photos, and some from my fittings!! π
This was the sample in the store, so it is in champagne, but my dress was ivory like yours!! Hope I’m not overloading you with photos, but since it doesn’t seem like there are many Allure 8901 brides yet, hopefully this will be helpful!

Oh my goodness, you have so many beautiful pictures in your dress! Thank you so much! I had only seen your professional wedding pictures up until now, and I didn’t even see those until after I had made this post. Yay! If it even looks HALF as good on me as it does on you, I will be delighted. π
Good news on the picture front, though! My Mother-In-Law (to be, technically, though I already consider her to be a mom) is visiting, and I tried on my dress for her last night! She snapped some photos, so now I finally have evidence that this actually is my dress and can see it on myself, haha! Here is my favourite one that she took. π I have a veil as well, but I couldn’t get it to stay on my head.

@CookieCharmer: It looks amazing on you, I love it so much!!
Funny thing about veils–at our wedding, I couldn’t get my veil to stay on my head for the life of me! It stayed on for pretty much the walk down the aisle and the ceremony and then it fell off. And we put it back on. And it fell off. And then it fell in the pool during photos hahaha the funny little mishaps are the best π

@moniquaa: I hope you fished it out of the pool and put it back on! Hahaha! π Seriously though, thanks for the sweet compliment…and I’m glad I’m not the only one who is hopeless at getting a veil to stay put. I am figuring that on my wedding day the hairstylist might have some degree of better luck, but even then I think I’ll be impressed if it even stays on for an hour or so! Veils are so pretty…but I’m not sure how well they mix with the omnipresent vicious winds of St. John’s Newfoundland. Plus, with any luck, it’ll be an outdoor wedding…you might see that veil flap by your window down in the United States! π

@Tomlinson12: You look absolutely beautiful in your dress, silly faces or not! π (We all make our share of silly faces, so no one is judging!) Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing! Is your dress champagne, or ivory?

Haha thank you for the understanding! My dress is champagne, the first alterations I was a little concerned with the color because standing next to all those white dresses in the store is kind of concerning bc the champagne is darker. However, we are having a kinda rustic outdoor wedding at our home in the country we just bought so I think the champagne will work pretty good, my Maid/Matron of Honor is convincing me of that haha. moniquaa your wedding was so gorgeous! What kind of weddings are you others having? Wedding is a month from yesterday!

@Tomlinson12: I thought it looked champage, but I wasn’t certain if that was just the lighting in the pictures! I really like the colour, and I think it will go perfectly with the overall feel of your wedding. π You must be getting SO excited now! A month just absolutely flies by…you will be wearing that dress for real in no time! Yay! I can’t wait to see pictures of the “real deal”.
My wedding is still a year away (September 1st, 2013) so I have tons of planning left to do, but my venue (for both the ceremony and reception) is a gorgeous golf resort with a spectacular waterfall garden and huge ol’ (very pretty) banquet hall. With any luck, the weather will co-operate with me and I will have my ceremony outdoors right in front of the waterfall! Keep your fingers crossed for me, because that is really what I want! We will have it inside the resort if it is raining, but I always pictured myself being married outdoors…and the outdoor aspects are really what made me choose this venue.
We’re having a BBQ buffet dinner with both a dessert and candy buffet afterwards (I am a food junkie like WHOAH, and so’s my guy), and we’re having a fabulous live band! Yippee! π
You must be almost done all your planning now! I am jealous!

Hiii,
I have to say, You all look stunning in the dress!!!
I myself have been looking at the allure 8901 dress…it’s gorgeous and just what I’d go for. But still deciding as im not at my slimmest at the minute due to having my darling daughter and still caring baby weight and I don’t know how good this dress would look on me at my size.
Anyway, I’m currently in the process of shifting my baby weight so with any luck this will be my wedding dress too!! π
I did wonder though…what type of petticoat/underskirt is needed underneath? 1 hoop? 2hoop?

@staceydee: Hi! I hope you end up being a sister dress-twin with the rest of us…it really is a beautiful gown. π I would say try it on, regardless of the baby weight! It does have a lot of structure and I think it would look stunning on brides of all sizes and shapes. Good luck to you! π
I’m not sure if the other ladies in this thread are wearing petticoats in their pictures, but I am not! So, in my picture, that is ALL dress, with nothing on under it except for underwear. It is a big dress, and in my opinion, no petticoat is needed…I’m going to wear it without one on my big day!
