After seeing all the posts on here about DIY flowers, I’m excited to buy wholesale flowers and make my own bouquets and centrepieces. But I can’t seem to find any wholesale flower sellers that allow the general public to buy from them – they all specify that they sell only to ‘registered florists or related businesses’ and I need a registered business to order from them.
Any other ladies in Australia find a solution to this problem?

Depending what state you are in….. Here in SA you could go to Richmond flower market. They state that they only sell to businesses, but they rarely ask you. If they do just say your a TAFE student studying floristry. But you need to be there at 4:30am. This is only for fresh flowers.

Like toasty said it depends on what state you are in.
Also you can apply for an ABN free of charge so you could always create an event company, register for an ABN and then go to the wholesaler!
The Victoria Market also has a flower section
Northside Flower Market
The brisbane Markets
The sydney flower markets

We bought ALL our flowers for decorations, not bouquets our bouts, from Sydney flower market. We budgeted $300 and spent $150 🙂 didn’t need an ABN

I am in SA, so will check out the Richmond markets, thanks!
I did think about creating a ‘event management’ business and getting an ABN, but wasn’t sure how strict they would be with checking – that is definitely an option, thanks for all the advice 🙂
