(Closed) Any Bees cover their tattoos for the wedding?

  • poll: Did you cover up your tat for your wedding?

Nope, my wedding, my decision-not theirs

I covered mine up to shut someone up(like a parent)

My dress just happened to mask mine

The tattoos I have would never be visible with a dress(thigh, back, etc)

I was asked to cover mine up when I was a BM

I am asking my BM to cover their tattoo up

DH has tattoos on his chest and back that are normally covered up in regular clothes. I just made sure the shirt wasn’t see through for him. He agreed- either he wanted to show them or hide them completely. Not see faint shadows through the Shirt.

i have a half sleeve so far, my wedding isn’t for another year and a half, i plan on getting to the tattoo shop and adding more, tattoos for my departed family, cousin, nanny, and father, they all meant something to me and by the time the wedding is hear ill be more towards a 3/4 sleeve, my mother loves the idea of showing off what you love, Fiance family on the other hand are more religious and keep asking me “grow your hair so we cant see it” or do they make makeup to “fix” that (pointing to my arm) im not going to cover it up, even though its a large skull/crow, i will also be standing on the right side instead of the left, so everyone can see our tattoos better

    @heathuhhhhwebbbb:  Beautiful!

I have one that I will be covering (I voted other). It’s a really crappy piece done between my shoulder blades that I’d like to have removed or do a cover piece on, but that won’t happen before the wedding. I had my photographer edit it out of our engagement pictures, but I plan on putting makeup over it on the day of. You won’t be able to see my other tattoos except the ones on my feet (but those will mostly be covered by the dress anyway), but I love those ones.

I am having my bridesmaids cover their tatoos. I don’t mind tatoos but I really don’t want to see leopard print and random poorly done (and when I say poorly done they are HORRIBLY done) animals in my wedding photos! However, I will be providing them with the tools to do it (and I will help apply make-up if need be). I wish I could just have them put on bolero or of the sort but the tatoos are in places they wouldn’t cover.

I covered mine up because i didnt want the world to know. I got a tattoo obviously to be seen by someone/me but not by everyone and their mom. literally. I wouldnt have made my Bridesmaid or Best Man cover theirs though

I only have one and it showed.  Hell, I chose my dress partially based on how well it framed the tattoo.

I wanted more by day of, but that wasn’t in the cards (the more would have been covered up).

Further, one of my bridesmaids was heavily inked, and I specifically told her to show them off.  I’m the one in the bridal gown; it’s pretty obvious who’s getting married.  There was pretty much no way anyone would be upstaging me.

Oh, and I’ve been in the boat where no body modifications were acceptable when I was a bridesmaid.  The dress covered the tattoo pretty nicely, but I had to take out my eyebrow jewelry.

I don’t plan on covering the one tattoo of mine on my shoulder that is visible.  I have another one on my side, but I haven’t chosen my dress yet so not quite sure if some of it’ll show, it’s really big.  I am not getting any more though until after I am married out of respect for my mother.  I am itching to get a new one though. 🙂

I have two tattoos: a star on my ear lobe and an Adinkra (west African) symbol on my right back shoulder. I had that done after I turned 31 so no regrets here. The ear tattoo was done when I was 27. My dress is a sleeveless, off-the-shoulders dress so it won’t be covered.  I’m 34-years-old and paying for the wedding (with my FI) so no one has a say.

I have a tattoo on the top of each arm, had them done when I was 16 and highly regret it now. My SO knew how much I hated them and offered to pay to have them removed. I’m having session number 6 this week and they are fading nicely, will be tattoo free for my wedding pics 🙂

@heathuhhhhwebbbb:  You look stunning! I love how your tattoos are set off by the white of your dress. Also, I’m in awe of your chest piece.

I only have one tattoo on my left shoulder at the moment that will will definitely show in my dress. However, I have plans to get two more before my actual wedding day (on my left foot and arm). I echo what everyone else is saying and feel that each will be a part of me and have no plans to intentionally cover any of them.
