I”m starting phase 1 again today – I did it about a year ago with some success but fell off the wagon HARD after the first 2 weeks and ended up really really sick because I overindulged at a bachelorette party on all the foods I hadn’t been eating…terrible idea.
I’m hoping to stick with it this time. Any one else out there?

I lost over 80 pounds with south beach and I’ve kept to a lot of the principals for life. You can do this 🙂

I wouldn’t say I’m 100% on South Beach but I’ve been familiar with the diet since I was 15 years old. Since the best diet for my body type and metabolism is a no carb/low carb one the South Beach diet is really (or should really be) a lifestyle for me. Right now I’m not directly following the program but I’ve cut out carbs and am trying my best to really stay focused on eating plants and protein. I’m hoping to stick with no carb/low carb as a true lifestyle change.
On top of this I started doing Jillian Michael Fat Banish (or whatever that one’s called) video. It’s great, but beyond difficult.

I did SB a few years back with some success, lost some weight and it definitely had me feeling better. Low carbs/no carbs = not feeling sluggish and having more energy for me apparently. Who knew!? Haha. But I fell off the wagon and forgot to get back on it.
I’m going to do some meal planning today and hit the grocery store tonight so I can get myself back on track. If anyone has any great Phase 1 recipes or snacks feel free to share!!

@MsGinkgo: I’m trying to do a pretty good version of Phase 1 right now… I have a tiny bit of fruit now and again, and have a few drinks once or twice a week. How’s it going for you?

I went straight into Phase II. I have Type II Diabetes. My Dr suggested I go into that Phase. I lost 50 pounds.

@jlc3: I’m down 5 pounds, I feel really good. I haven’t cut out butter – I don’t use much but I won’t do margarine, no matter the fat I figure a product that’s only cream and salt has to be better than one full of a ton of stuff i can’t pronounce. I did cheat last night and had some chips but I had no alcohol all weekend.
I’m going to stay off fruit until next week, i will probably end up drinking a bit this weekend as I’m going to a friends cottage. The carb free thing really works for me.

@MsGinkgo: That’s great! I remember that feeling dropping like 4 or 5 pounds the first week, helps with the motivation a bit Good job! Meh, we all do a little cheat once in awhile…it’s the whole in moderation thing that i struggle with when i have a snack/cheat outside the regular diet rules. Ugh.
