I am considering having it done. There is a phenomenal henna artist in Winnipeg, I have just contacted her but I doubt that she will be able to fit me in. Do you have a pic of yours?

I’ll have a version of henna at mine, but it’s not the traditional sort. One of my BMs has a tatoo of a sakura branch on one of her calves. Instead of asking her to cover it up I want to have each of my BMs and myself get temp tattoos on our calves to match. A very good friend of mine used to be a henna artist by trade, so she’ll be doing them for us.

I go to a place called the Indo-Canadian Beauty Salon for threading and waxing.

I’ve been in and seen traditional bridal mendhi being applied. It’s GORGEOUS. When I mentioned it, my sister (moh) thinks my whole bridal party & my mother should have it done together.

I’m thinking the soles of our feet – it will last for weeks and also won’t be obtrusive.

I just wanted to add that I love & respect the origins of the tradition.

It’s a time for bonding and discussion between the bride to be and female members of her family; and they say the darker the henna, the stronger the groom’s love for his bride.
