Hi Bees! Fiance and I are in the beginning stages of planning our honeymoon (yes, we are early planners! lol). We originially wanted to spend a week in Orlando, FL doing Disney World & Universal Studios, but by the time we add up plane tickets, rental car, place to stay, meals, and park tickets, there’s no way we could swing it. We are now thinking of a cruise for our honeymoon since mostly everything is included and it would definitely be a very relaxing break after all the craziness of the wedding!
The cruise we are looking at booking is a 7-day Bahamas cruise on the Carnival Pride that leaves out of Baltimore (which is about and hour and a half from where we are getting married). For you bees that have done a cruise for your honeymoon, I’d LOVE to hear your feedback as well as tips, advice, etc. And for those that have any upcoming honeymoon cruises, I’d love to hear why you chose a cruise!
Thanks ladies!! I appreciate it so much!

jennabee1218: We did a cruise for our honeymoon. We did a 10 day cruise in the Mediterranean with Princess Cruises and it wsa fantastic! And not as pricey as people think as we book super far in advance (our wedding date was actually chosen based on the cruise date – Darling Husband really wanted to go on this cruise. It was a hardship, but I agreed to it.) Everything is included but the drinks. Since I adore wine, it did get a little pricey (but I got to try wines I would never had tried so win!). We did the excursions through the cruise line as well which we quite like as it got us around to see the highlights of the various stops. He likes doing things so he really enjoys the excursion. I’m more of a sit in a chair in the sun and read type of person on holidays and the days at sea I did just that. And the food? There aren’t words to describe it. I’m a vegetarian so I had restrictions, and I was always fed incredibly. I think we gained 5 lbs each despite the hours of walking a day we did.
We did do a Caribbean cruise a few years ago (also with Princess) and enjoyed it as well. Again we did the excursions but there was ample time off as well. Plus there are always activies on the boat as well. On both cruises we did the trivia games and I got to shop. In the last cruise since the boat was in international waters, no tax! Whoot!
I hope you enjoy the heck out of your cruise!

catwoman1701: Glad to see we are not the only ones who planned our wedding date around our cruise honeymoon 😉
We are booked for June 2015 on an Oceania cruise in the Mediterranean. We wanted a smaller crowd, no kids, and to try to avoid smokers. So much research later we found Oceania was perfect for us. More pricey than a lot of others, but everything is included, except alcohol, but we can get a decent priced package for that. Lots of fancy restaurant choices (included), special spa access (included too) and everything else we could want. We’re also staying about a week each end, plus touring back on land from Lisbon to Madrid, so it will be about 4 weeks all up. I can’t wait!!

jennabee1218: We are getting married in November and then taking a Princess cruise to the Caribbean/Bahamas. We chose a cruise because neither of us have done one before, we can get away and unplug completely, and we live in Florida so it is easy to get to the cruise dock.
We are pretty excited to be doing something new for both of us!
