I live in London but as this is where my house is I have actually never stayed in a hotel or hostel in London!

I’d suggest using the usual search tools, laterooms.com or lastminute.com or tripadvisor, the user reviews on tripadvisor are always useful. B&B’s are usually good and cheaper than hotels.

I have heard there is a hostel right on Piccadilly Circus, apparently it’s horrendous but cheap, and it doesn’t get more central than that.

Good luck!

Id try the hostelbookers.com they are pretty good. I dont know about any particular hostel, but that website has ratings and reviews for each- I found it quite helpful when travelling through europe!

Hostelbookers are pretty decent – particularly private rooms, if you like that sort of thing. London is easy to navigate by public transport – but of course, depends on how much time you want to spend travelling!

Or you could try sites like Last Minute for good deals.. sometimes Expedia UK and Kayak UK will give you good cheap hotels too!
