My Fiance has been working with a few German co-workers the last couple of weeks and has become good friends with a few of them. They have started spending a lot of time together after work and in the mean time vacation has come up a few times. The guys from Germany have told him many times how much they like Thailand. I have been told before that it is a beautiful place and since Fiance brought it up I have started doing a little research. It looks so romantic and full of history and I would love to honeymoon there. So iwas just wondering if any bees have vacationed or been on their Honeymoon in Thailand. I would love any information anyone could give me. Thanks Bees!

I personally love Thailand and have gone twice. It has a lot to offer. And honestly, once you pay for flights, it’s not an expensive place to be. I’ve been to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Phuket.
I highly recommend Chiang Mai and next time I go I plan on checking out one of the islands. I don’t recommend staying in Phuket. We actually stayed a little bit outside of it and rented mopeds (but that can be a bit scary for people). And I would only stay in Bangkok for two, maybe three days.
But I definitely recommend going at some point. And do a cooking class! I loved it.

Thanks for the information. We were thinking about Phuket or Chiang Mai, maybe even one of the islands. good to hear from someone that Phuket wouldn’t be recommended. I can’t wait to do a cooking class, my Fiance says he doesn’t understand why I want to go on a honeymoon and go cook!

We’re going to thailand for our honeymoon! Check out my thread:
I’m super excited. I had been dreaming tahiti, but one day when Fiance and I win the lottery we shall go. 🙂 In the meantime, we’ll enjoy Thailand! 🙂

I would do that cooking class everyday if I could. Honestly, I got to sample 8 different meals and learn how to make them. Plus got a recipe book. And I love thai food.
Depending on how long you’re going for, you could probably do both Chaing Mai and an island of some sort. You can usually find fairly decently priced flights if you look for the budget airlines in the country.

I’ve been on vacation there and it was AMAZING.
We went to Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Bangkok is a huge bustling, dirty city, so if you’re into that, then go there.
Chiang Mai is a lot smaller, quieter, and more friendly with more “nature” i guess.
We stayed at a place called Fern Paradise when we were in Chiang Mai (http://www.fernparadise.com/) and it was AWESOME. Check out the website (and tripadvisor), the owners are so nice and the rooms are so unique. It was just a great experience and I wish we could have stayed forever. I think it would be great for a honeymoon.
