Hi. I live in VA now, but I went to college and lived in a town about 1.5 hours from Charlotte, and my mom’s family is all from a town about an hour from Charlotte – I actually bought my wedding dress in Charlotte because I went shopping with my Mom.

Charlotte is a terrific city. Great neighborhoods, great businesses, great people. I have a ton of college friends who live there now and I’ve enjoyed the city when I’ve gone to visit. They pretty much all live in the city, so I don’t know much about the towns around there. The National Whitewater Center is just outside the city, and I’ve been there a couple of times to go rafting and climbing and biking and such, and the little towns around there seemed charming. I have some friends who live in Davidson, who love it, but I haven’t been there.

Not sure what you want to know, but I hope I can at least reassure you that it’s a great place to live.

I live in Charlote, and LOVE It. If you are commuting into town every day, you may want to try to stay in the city limits, because the commute from Huntersville and Davidson might be a bit much…

We live in Gastonia. I grew up in Belmont, my husband in Gastonia, personally these are my favorite areas because they are a lot less crowded. Especially the Belmont/Mt. Holly area, they are right beside Charlotte & 85 but still definitely have the quaint small town feel.

We decided to buy in Gastonia because the property taxes and houses were the most bang for your buck around the Charlotte area that we found. We love it, because Gastonia is still a pretty big town and has most everything you need, but you can be in Charlotte in 20-30 minutes depending on which area you are going to!

Im in the Raleigh Area. We relocated here from NJ about 2 years ago. I LOVE it in NC! We have some friends that live in Mooresville which is just outside of charlotte and it was really nice there. I’ve only been once because its still a 3 hour drive for me.

Charlotte is prolly about 5-6 hours from the outer banks because the outer banks is about 3 hours from raleigh. But Wrightsville Beach or Myrtle beach is prolly closer cus its further south.

It’s really far from the OBX. I think around 7-8 hours. It’s about 4-5 hours from Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Wilmington.

Hi! Charlotte is pretty nice, I am originally from Long Island, New York and moved here a few years ago.  My parents live in Concord but it is more so Harrisburg and it is really nice.

My fiance and I just moved to Matthews and we LOVE it.  I love the small town feel and they are always doing something around here.  They have movies in the park, festivals, small craft fairs.  It is just a really nice town and the rent/utilities were much cheaper for what we have here then if we were to move directly in the uptown Charlotte area.  My fiance works downtown and his commute to work (he leaves a little early to beat the 74/Monroe traffic) is around 20 minutes and we are close to everything we need!

Oh also with the outer banks, my fiances parents have a beach house in Oak Island (only part of the outer banks I have been to) it takes us about 3.5 hours to get there, really really pretty beaches!
