Getting ahead of myself, hubbs can possibly get transferred to WC, SC.. It’s a pick from Spartanburg, North Charleston, or West Colombia. I would like to be closer to the beach but NC seems high in crime. WC seems in the middle and I’d like to know your opinon of this city which could potentially be our new home….

I’m in Charleston. My very good friends live in WECO.
I wouldn’t live in Columbia for 10 billion dollars and a body like Jennifer Annistons.
Theyve got a shopping mall. The ENd. It’s not charming, its close to redneck areas….just no.
On the flip side, North Charleston isn’t bad. Before I moved here I read all about the hgh crime, lock your doors, don’t make any eye contact….
Then I moved here and we laughed like cazy. It’s not scary, it’s not a bad area, no big deal. There are pockets you want to say out of, but that’s any city. And the crime rate is high because it’s based per capita.
Now, depending on where you’re from (I am from Los Angeles) this area will not be scary at all. I’m here if you have questions or need anything at all.

@Carolyn72: I used to live in Columbia and lived in a few different areas. I would never want to move back, there’s nothing there and there are some pretty bad areas. I would honestly rather try to find a nice area of Charleston and commute if possible. There are also areas close to Spartanburg that are nice.
That being said, if you give me a more specific idea of where in West Columbia I can give you a better answer. You can put it in this thread or PM me if you don’t want it to be public knowledge. Columbia (as is the case with many locations) can change from super shady to decent within a minute.

@mandb122: DH’s job has two cities he can relocate to. I believe West Colombia and I want to say Spartanburg, but the latter I am not sure of.

@axeyourmakeupkit: I read the statistics on N. Charleston and thought holy shit! Surprising to hear it’s not crime ridden. What’s to do there? I’m scared to move somewhere and be even more bored than I am here…
