I am getting a 3-tiered Publix cake. Right now, I have delivery selected on my order form; however, I think I’d like to have my Maid/Matron of Honor pick it up and save $50.
How is the cake received for pick-up? Is there a dome over it or is it just open to the elements?

I would never risk it, personally. A friend in college worked in the Publix bakery and they were pretty serious about their deliveries. I’m not sure about Publix or your particular design, but sometimes the layers are separate and the cake has to be assembled on site, so that’s also something to consider.

We had ours delivered, sorry. 🙁

@lovecacti: I don’t know your budget. If you want to cut out that 50 bucks because you are on a really tight budget then yes, cut it out. If you’re thinking ‘its just picking up a cake, that’s not hard’ then I say have it delivered. Sometimes it’s good to pay for peace of mind as well as flexibility of time on your big day.
