Here is mine! I am in love with the halo style…I agree it is popular/trendy right now but I also think it has a vintage flair about it, so can be considered timeless as well. Anywho, mine is cushion cut double halo.

I think I may have already commented on this thread, but I actually really liked halo settings back when I was in college almost 10 years ago. So as far as being ‘trendy’, I’m not too sure if that’s true because they’ve been popular for a while. When DH and I were looking to reset me e-ring I kept gravitating towards halo settings even though I was trying not to. I just like them the best!

I think some ring trends change with the economy, to be honest. You used to see a lot of solitaires and wraps, and then you started seeing the ‘invisible’ set stones (4 or more smaller cut stones that make up the center stone), then they went away and three stones became huge, then the economy tanked again and you started seeing the invisible settings again. As a matter of fact, I recently went into a mall jewelry store (which was AWFUL, and every single ring I looked at had mis-matched diamonds) and there wasn’t a single engagement ring that was a single center stone, they were almost all invisible. It makes sense, in a troubling economy, you get more bling for your buck. I’ve seen some that are beautifully put together, and some that are horrendous, but that’s just me. Whoever mentioned the gold trend and princess cuts was right too. When I was engaged the first time I wanted a princess cut because no one else had one and I always thought they were beautiful. After I got married (with my princess cut in yellow gold) everyone I know got a princess. In white gold, LOL. I felt so ‘dated’ hahaha.
As for halo’s, I never knew that’s what they were called either! And other than my RHR (which I made out of the engagement ring from my late husband) I have only seen 1 on an actual person, a friend of mine who was only recently engaged.

That setting was my second choice and really first because I did not think I would get my verragio and the Leo bridal set was the only ring I liked when trying them on in stores (no stores carry Verragio near us) but we went on a road trip and I got this one (he said he couldnt get it but he lied 😀 )!
**sorry for the huge pictures**

I am surprised to hear that the halo has become so popular. Where i live no one that i know has a halo/bloom style. Which is why i choose mine to be different!

I havent seen any either, most people I know who are engaged (not many) have solitares, but after my friends who are not engaged have seen mine they all say “I want one like that”

Sorry for the cell phone pic…a little blurry. Mine is a .7 round center set in platinum. We picked out a 1/2 enternity channel set band with 14 princess cut diamonds. The two fit together perfectly. I will post them together after the wedding. : )

Beautiful ring! Hubby and I also got married 5 years ago and I didn’t know halos existed. Now, for our 5th year anniversary, I’m adding a halo to my solitaire setting. So excited

Would you mind telling me how big is your center stone? I’m getting a princess cut diamond ser into a halo and I love your setting. Looks like the one I’m getting.
