a motorcycle, that is! My whole family rides and I love it as well (as a passenger, but I hope to drive one day), so I was pretty stoked when my first date with Darling Husband was on his bike. Unfortunately, Darling Husband has more of a rat bike, so it’s not exactly built for comfort for the passenger. I’ve put up with it these past few years, but we both agree that if we want to do any highway driving or long road trips I will not survive them. So… we’re looking at this bike.
2011 Harley Davidson Fat Boy. It was a demo bike driven by the owner’s wife, so its in tip-top shape and only has a few miles on it. She’s all tricked out with new chrome pipes, saddle bags, lowering kit, back rest (RIGHT ON!), etc etc. I’m HOPING it’s not sold, so we can go take a look at it today!!! I’d be one happy camper if we got a new bike today!
So bad-ass biker Bee’s, show off your SO’s bike’s (or YOURS!) and share your stories!

That is one sexy bike!!! I don’t ride, but Darling Husband wants to get his motorcycle license soon. I told him he’s not allowed to have a crotch rocket (he has a bad history with car accidents, I don’t want him getting into an accident without a metal cage around him), but I’d love a bike like this in our family. My uncle was a biker (actual gang member biker, not just a guy who rides bikes), so I think it’s in my blood 😉

@bakerella: wouldn’t like a crotch rocket either! Just not our style. Hope you guys can find the right fit for your family! Can’t beat that feeling of the wind in your face and the freeness.

We have Hondas! One vintage Gold Wing for comfort on long trips (we went 10,000 km in 11 days cross-Canada in August), a Nighthawk currently being fixed up, and a stripped down ‘naked Wing’ (no faring) coming in spring. My fiancé got his license last year and I have mine but have barely driven, because I got it right before winter. I can’t wait to ride in spring!

Oops, crotch rocket chick over here! I have a Kawasaki Ninja ex500r. I got into it because my dad is a life-long rider, and because my mom wanted me not to ride so bad (I was a rebel!) I know it sounds weird and ironic, but I feel safer on a sport bike (I’m never the passenger). I just feel more in control of the steering. Learned how to ride on an old Harley and didn’t really enjoy it until I got on a Ninja 🙂

Fiance used to have a Kawasaki KZ900 LTD until someone stole it. 🙁 He wants to get another bike at some point.
Looked like this one:

I do, but Darling Husband doesn’t or hasn’t since he was a teen. I had a Maxim 750 until it was stolen a few years ago and have been on the hunt for a new one ever since. I like the classics but they have to be able to accomodate my short stature and those are alittle harder to find.

@AmyDee: I learned on a Ninja! It totally intimidated me at first but it was an awesome bike for learning. Sports bikes are definitley manouverable, way more than big touring bikes.

Nope, never. I prefer to have metal protecting me on the roads, not clothes

Mine does – sport touring bike. has a racing bike too but I think his old self is gonna have to retire that ride soon lol! I got my licence the summer before last but no $$$ to get a bike yet. we would both like me to have my own though.
