I need love/sympathy/advice!
Fiance just got paired with a very attractive female EMT partner. I’m not the jealous type (in fact, I’ve never really been jealous of his female relationships before). I’ve just got my mind spinning! Thinking things like…’wow, he’s going to be spending all day with this girl’ and ‘wow, she’s really pretty’.
Have any of you had this happen to you? How did you deal?
*DISCLAIMER: I am NOT saying that I’m mad at Fiance, or that he shouldn’t or cannot have a female partner. I’m just having personal issues dealing with it.

Fiance is an EMT, and he had a gorgeous partner at one time. She even modeled at one point. I was slightly concerned, too, but then I met her at a function and I felt instantly better. You know how some girls have a nice, down-to-earth non-FI-stealing vibe? She totally has it.
It’s a little weird knowing that they spent so many hours together, but I didn’t worry at all once I met her. Is your Fiance stationed at a fire station? If he is, maybe you can invent some sort of function to invite a group over and get to know her. You definitely have my sympathy! It’s an odd situation to be sure.

Ahhh I understand. I’ve never dealt with it but it would bug me too. So I have no advice, really, but I have sympathy! 🙂 I’m sorry because that would be suuper annoying!

@jo.lee: it’s so great to hear someone else has gone through it! I would love to meet her. I’ve only seen her facebook profile. I’d either feel a lot better or a lot worse once I met her! I really hope she gives off the ‘non Fiance stealin'” vibe!!! :-/

Time to set up a spring barbeque! Hopefully you’ll feel better. I think most girls aren’t crappy man thiefs, so the odds are definitely in your favor, lol!

@jo.lee: At his old company, I used to bring meals and treats (like cake, rice krispies, etc) for him and his co workers. I think I’ll do that again. 🙂 He’s used to it, so he won’t think it’s odd or anything.

Mr. CP is a male nurse, and most of the other nurses he works with are women. He’s friends with some really cute girls… and I can’t say I’m the jealous type, so it’s never bothered me. I’m sure there are lots of guys out there who are partnered with/coworkers with hot chicks… and hopefully it will never be an issue! I do like to meet his coworkers, and we all get along great. 🙂

Aww, I completely get where you’re coming from. Fiance is an elementary school teacher (currently finishing school- interning in 2nd Grade), so as you can imagine, he is one of THREE male teachers at his school. I was a tad worried at first (hey, I’m a preschool teacher and 95% of the girls I work with are cute and young lol), but then I heard about how he talked about me (in a good way, obviously) alllll the time. I went to a school function with him a few weeks ago and even the young teachers were asking about the wedding, telling him he was a lucky guy, etc. The females who I suppose I have for competition are the 8 year old girls who bat their eyelashes and say “heeeeey Mr. ___” lol.
I understand- but like PP’s have said, most girls aren’t the “fiance stealin'” type 🙂 I’m sure all will be fine after you have a chance to meet them!

@FutureMrsMcDermott: Yes! It’s hard, because there aren’t many other professions where they spend all day with someone in pretty close quarters.
At his last company, he was usually partnered with a girl a few years younger than us who was well known for dating everyone in town.
I didn’t worry about it too much. He never once seemed interested, and though I know he loves me more than anything… it IS weird knowing he’s spending 24 hour shifts in a bus or the station with another woman.
One night a few of us went out for drinks and she came. I was nice and my usual funny self. She left after about 20 minutes. According to some of the guys afterwards – she felt intimidated by me because she wasn’t used to having smart, funny women around.
It’s tough, so I know what you mean 🙂 Good luck!!!
