Hi ladies! Just wondering other peoples’ experience with working relief/graveyard jobs? I have a part time retail job that I’ve had since high school (just graduated from University with my Bachelor’s) and the only job I’ve managed to get is on call/casual. I just handed in my employment package today, so I haven’t started yet, but they implied at the interview that it will be mostly graveyards, or if someone goes away I might get some day shifts. Just looking for reassurance that it won’t be completely awful, because I’m really nervous!
I’m planning on staying on at my part time job, at least until I get a handle on what to expect from this new job. It’s been so stressful, I’ve been putting off handing in the employment papers for this job because I wanted to see if the other job I had “secured” (made it through interviews) would work out, but they had to send away for my security clearance and it has been 6 weeks, so I really can’t drag this out any further.
Anyway, didn’t mean to drag this out, just want to hear other ladies’ experiences (although I suppose the nature of being on call would make everyone’s experiences very different!)
