I’m getting married there next June, I’m so happy I chose it since its a non-profit and the loction is beautiful. Its right on the water though so weather can be an issue, but I’m trying not to worry about it since you can’t do anything about it except have a plan B

Couple things to keep in mind, you are required to use Morin’s Catering (they are known to be a good caterer), you must have an open bar (town law), it is a YMCA camp so there is a pool and other things for their summer camp that people can see when they arrive but not during the wedding, they have custom tent flaps for the deck incase of bad weather, and you can use the interior school room for cocktail hour if it rains, and its tax deductable (although that doesn’t mean to get the whole fee off your taxes unfortunatly)

Anyone get married or been to a wedding at the Shining Tides in Mattapoisett?

^^I started this thread a couple months ago when I was looking into it since there are really no reviews online.

I’m getting married there in October.  We fell in love with the venue on first sight.  The rental fee is higher than we had planned on paying, but depending on your flexibility there could be some room to adjust.  Plus, it is going to a good cause.  You do need to rent tables and chairs, but if you order them through Shining Tides (through Chase Canopy) you can use their discount.  (I think 13%.)

You do have to work with Russell Morin’s, but they can work with any budget.  It does either need to be open bar or Morins gave us the option to provide our own with a serving and transportation fee (due to our small size).  Included in the Morins catering is complimentary white linens and two choices of china and silverware.

The event must end at 10pm, so if you wanted to go later that wouldn’t work here.

I believe this past summer was the first year they had weddings there on a regular basis, so it is hard to find too information on weddings there.
