Not getting married in mexico but when we were thinking about it, the photographers we were planning on using (del sol) in Mexico recommended the Royal Playa Del Carmen.

At Barcelo packages range from free to over 10grand. Here is a document I found that shows what’s included in each package.

Hope that works=)

Barcelo is stunning, and has different price points for the different sections of the hotel(all are nice)? Take a look at the resort and if you are interested look at this forum, tons of wedding info.

This is the link tot he wedding packages…we are doing the basic infinity packages becasue we dont care about things like wedding cake.  That being said that package is $800 but free for us ebcasue we have more than 10 plaatnium rooms booked.  We have 45 guests so will be getting out dinner covered in one of the a la carte restaurants and doinf an after dinner cocktail beach reception with open bar and DJ and high top tables and chairs with linens for $2000.  We are from canada so its complicated and a lot of paper work so are getting legally marreid before we go.  The minister has assured us that noone will be the wiser as we won’t be telling people we are already married.  The minister and wedding coordinator have already contacted us and so far I feel really good about things.  Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

We are getting married at the Moon Palace in Cancun. We are getting the free package, but so far extra costs are looking like around $1300, but I am sure there will be more. We are also not paying for any photography packages though since FI’s sister is a photographer and offered to gift this to us.

Hey! Total newbie here on these boards… First post actually!! 🙂 But I’ve been lurking for a while now. Anyway, we aren’t engaged yet (finalizing e-ring) but we did just get back from Cancun last night and we fell in love with our resort so I thought to share.

The resort is brand new but the company is not. They have many throughout Mexico and the Carribean. We stayed at Secrets – The Vine… Next door to Hard Rock. To say we were impressed is an understatement. It is an all inclusive, adults only luxury resort. We were in the preferred club (depends on booking status) and we won’t do anything else now. We were treated like royalty. Because we loved it so much we inquired about getting married there sometime next year and we got to meet with the coordinator, Yamina and she explained the wedding packages. They top out at 3,000 USD (20 ppl) and we feel that’s a great deal considering the place. Of course you can add anything you like but that package comes with reception, cocktail hour, flowers for you and he, spa treatment, 1 hour photog and videographer  and some other things.

My Boyfriend or Best Friend has a 6 year old son so we may not be able to get married there after all but we are looking at Dreams which is the same brand but family friendly.

One more thing that might be helpful is when I got a pedi I was sharing that while it might be nice to have family and friends for the ceremony we didn’t want to honeymoon with them. She suggested we get married at one hotel and honeymoon in another. We thought that was a great tip and one I hadn’t considered. This way the couple is moving around and your guests get to stay put but then they can still have the grand getaway, which I’ve wanted since I was a kid.

Its a very warm city with gorgeous beaches. We loved it and can’t wait to return! 🙂
