Well, I didn’t have a wedding there, but if you are looking for places, Tuscany is some of the most beautiful country-side I have ever seen (even in the dead of winter) and there are lots of super quaint little villas/farms that are B&Bs that I’m sure would be amazing for a wedding. Not sure of any specific ones but I know there are A LOT in that area.

Hi we are having a destination wedding in Italy.

We basically decided it will be a small wedding (20 pax) as we already had wedding dinners with my family in 3 countries – complicated, short story is those dinners were to please my family in lieu of a 800pax wedding my dad wanted in exchange for a destination one.

So though small, this is a big day for us as I will be wearing the white dreas for the 1st time and doing the whole nine yards with photographers etc eTc

Once party size is determined, we started searching online for locations and fell in love with the quaint little villas in Florence. We then mass emailed all the wedding planners we could find online, after extensive emails & skype we decided on one.

From there things start to flow naturally, with the Wedding Party securing location that we want, photographers, favors, etc etc

It’s a fun process but at the same time I sometimes feel lost because for the 1st time I am not in control of something of this importance. Just gotta learn to trust the Wedding Party and have plenty of communication.

Wedding Party: Gaia Cinotti

Photographer: David Bastianoni

Location: Villa Fiesole (they provide the food, so no catering)

Hope this is of help? If you need more specifics pm me and we can swap emails.

Fiance and I JUST decided to “elope” and have a destination wedding for just the two of us in Italy. I still want to wear a pretty dress and all the fixings, but I have NO IDEA where to begin. If anyone wouldn’t mind sharing their WP’s information I would be super grateful!

We are doing a cruise around the Mediterranean, starting in Venice ending in Barcelona. So we would be looking at having it in Naples or Florence. I don’t really have a preference. Any and all insight would be helpful.

Feel free to PM me.

@Vintage Princess:  I thought about just trying to save money and plan my own, but since niether Fiance or I speak Italian I assumed it would be more of a headache. Plus since we’ll be on a cruise and not actually at our location until the day of, I figured I’d need someone to coordinate it all for me….

I am having a destination wedding in Italy as well but mine will be in Rome. We are getting married at the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli near Piazza Venezia and then we will have the reception at Villa Miani. I am planning the wedding by mysself ( I am a controll freak, what can i say :D). I chose Nabis as my photographer. He has great reviews and seems to know how to photograph the high ceilings of our immense church :Dirty Delete Let me know if you need help. I have also just started a blog where I will write about my wedding planning experience in the hopes that it will help other bees planning to marry in Italy :))

@Vintage Princess: Sorry for the delay in responding but the past couple of months have been crazy busy. I leave for Italy next week :))) to take care of any last minute details πŸ™‚ I had my dress custom made by Sabella Couture in Boston because I could not decide on any πŸ˜‰ I am the pickiest person alive πŸ˜€ I just had my last fitting today. I can’t wait to wear it. It is excatly as I had envisioned it. It is white, modified A-line, French Alencon lace and clear swarovsky crystals with a long cathedral train (after all Aracoeli is a big church) paired with a Mantilla cathedral length veil πŸ™‚ I had my headpiece custom designed as well. I will remove the veil and wear the headpiece after the church. Can’t wait :))) I did not book a wedding planner because I speak fluent italian so I didn’t really feel like I needed one. It has been fun planning it though. I am having a blast :)))  I will start blogging again (haven’t kept up with it lately) and I will make sure I post lots of pictures in there as well :))) In the meantime, if you need help don’t hesitate to contact me :)))

Hi Bees,

Boy am I relieved to see YOU!  My Fiancé and I are getting married in Florence next October and I feel like I’m out on an island all by myself. =) Granted, it is an insanely beautiful place to be!  How’s the wedding planning coming along for everyone?

We are hopefully about a week away from deciding on our venue which I believe will be The Grand Hotel Villa Cora.  There are a couple of last minute questions we have to ask but hopefully they will get back to us quickly (and not the Italian way).

@Vintage Princess: Did you decide on a wedding planner?
