honestly, I compromised on the location, the date, the wedding party, all to please the critics in my family. And you know what? they don’t appreciate it. It isn’t good enough and now I’m pissed because I gave so much up. Your family has a choice to make: support you on your special day, or be critical. They’ve made their choice, and now it’s up to you to just do what makes you happy. They’ve had their wedding, and now it’s your turn. I hope you have a fantastic time with the supportive people in your life. It’s all about you two and your marriage so make anyone who shows up and decides to scowl go sit in a corner.

I feel your pain. As soon as my Fiance and I got engaged in May, we knew we wanted a beach weeding. Then my mother told me that my grandparents wouldnt be able to travel and really made me feel bad about thinking about having a Destination Wedding. So it has been 6 months and not one single wedding detail has been done – other than me buying a dress. (Yes I bought a dress with no wedding plans!!) So my Fiance and I decided last night that we want a Destination Wedding. So I am having the talk with my parents this weekend to tell them …either you can join us or we are going to elope. I dont want it to come to this but they (my mother especially) need to know its our day and this is how we want to start our married lives together. GOOD LUCK to you – hope everything works out the way you want it!!
