@flying_hearts:  Gorgeous dress and perfect choice. I’d never have guessed you were pear-shaped from that. I just think “va-va-voom”!

I’m 5’1″, but waaaay larger than you. A-line dresses looked best on me, but you should go with whatever style dress feels best to you! πŸ™‚

I’m 5’0 107lbs and I orginally wanted a huge ballgown but once I tried one on, I found that it just swallowed me! I ended up with a fit and flare/mermaid type dress. That wasn’t on my list of things to even try but the lady at the bridal shop suggested it to see and I loved the fit! The pic is when I first tried it on so it’s clipped like crazy!

~5ft…wanted to be open minded but immediately gravitated towards strapless sheaths, trumpets, and narrow alines.  Ended up with a strapless sheath.  I loved my dress, but if I could do it again, I’d get something with more internal structure or a corset. My tummy looked poochy in some of the side angle pics.

@ofroyalty:  I’m 5’1″ (I never post my weight on here because I’m way too embarrassed), and I tried on a variety of different shapes/styles before settling on my dress.  I’ve been trying to refrain from posting pictures of myself in my dress all over the Bee (I’ve posted it on a couple of threads, though), but I went with something that’s sort of in-between a ballgown and an A-line.  It’s not big and poufy, but it’s also not a “true” A-line.

I think it really depends on body type more than height.  For example, I have a large bust and I wanted to find a dress that minimized that as much as possible.  If I had tiny boobs, it’s possible I would have chosen a different dress.

I ended up with the dress that made me feel best.  I cried both times I tried it on … So I guess that means something.  (I had no real reaction to any of the other dresses I tried on despite the fact that there were some other top contenders.)

I am 5’2. I wore a ball gown dress, and loved it.

I’m 5″1 as well but quite a bit heavier than you

I chose a mermaid. I don’t think height affects how much a dress suits a person, I think it has more to do with body shape
