I think mine is a 0.3 but I’m not sure. It’s pretty average where I live. Before I went on this site, I never even knew that people wore huge rings. I didn’t even think you could buy them, unless you were a footballer’s wife, or a Russian billionaire, or something. Since then, I’ve been looking around out of curiosity, and I’ve seen one or two which must be close to 1 carat for sale. Not many, though.

Mine is 0.33ct including the side stones so id guess 0.25ct for the center stone. It sparkles SOOO much, but my Fiance goes on and on about it being ‘so small’ and was planning to go to Dubai with his next sea trip to get a bigger stone. We are discussing either adding a halo to it, or going Moissy (Neither of us had ever heard of it before the bee and since i love the sparkle and he wants something bigger, dont want to spend a fortune it seems like it could work).

The centre stone on mine is 0.42. I never even think of it as small! but my fingers are small (the ring size is 4.5 or ‘I’ in australian sizes) and it sparkles a lot so it seems big to me. I wanted something interesting (I’m noticing all the smaller rings on this board tend to have really pretty, unusual settings!), antique and not too fussy – I wear this all day every day and will continue to wear it for the rest of my life. It never catches on anything or scratches anything. I love it!

I originally wanted/asked for a ring that was between .40-.50 carats. Darling Husband didn’t do that, and I got a 1 carat (which I feel is too much for my size 6 finger, since my fingers are kind of long).
So, I bought a berricle set, and plan on wearing it a lot!
The center stone (which is CZ) is .46 carats. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Really, though, Darling Husband and I plan to ‘upgrade’ in the future to a diamond, but I have set my foot down on a size .4-.5 center stone that is colorless and has high clarity/cut (and having this set has solidified my views on that!).

@pandaroo Aw. thanks 🙂 I do think sapphires are becoming more “accepted” as e-rings, (at least where I am) which is so ironic, isn’t it, given that they have a longer history of being given as e-rings than diamonds do! People fail to realize that e-rings were “traditionally” birthstones or any coloured stone that had meaning/symbolism for the couple – if e-rings were given at all! I think people don’t “believe” mine is an e-ring because it’s two clusters…whatever, it’s an heirloom, what could be better? 🙂

@engagedandinlove: aww thanks! the only reason i like bigger is more for sparkle than for the actual carat size lol.
