@MrsSnowMountain:  I know you posted your picture 11 months ago, but I just have to say: anyone who tells you that your ring is not a real engagement ring, obviously doesn’t know what an engagement ring actually is. So forget ’em, because every time I see your reing I squeal and get all girly, because it’s beautiful!

@BackcountryBarbie:  Aw thank you, so sweet of you, that made my day!

lol I think it just got old having people say, over and over, “soooo… that’s a promise ring, right?” sighh. Well i wear just a wedding band or stacked bands now anyway, so there’s no mistaking that! (e-ring resides as a RHR now!)

I love my ering, and now love it even more with the wedding band.  I’m not a big jewelry girl and I do a lot of physical outdoor activities so a big diamond wouldn’t fit with my lifestyle, and I wouldn’t want to have to take my rings off all the time.  FI caught a little grief from some of our less tactful friends for not buying me a big rock but I’m glad he gets me 🙂

@jennmariee:  I would love to see a close up of your ring. it looks like a bezel and I have become somewhat obsessed with them lately.

@DoggieDowner:  It does look a little like a bezel from the top, it’s an illusion setting.  They were common in the 40s, which is when DH’s grandmother received the ring.  Here’s the closest shot I have (with DH’s ring beside it).

@jennmariee:  I love illusion settings especially vintage/antique ones – I inherited my grandmother’s engagement ring a couple of years ago and it’s from the 1930s – also an illusion setting

yours is beautiful

I have to agree with some of my fellow bees on here. I do get ring envy when I don’t get as many comments on my ring. But I also love that my Darling Husband picked out my center stone with such foccus. I meet the sales woman who sold it to him and she said he was so cute taking it out into the sun just to see how much it would sparkle. He proposed at night and the light of the moon made it glitter!

Mine is a .33 center with .2 side stones and size 6 ring size.
