I do not like my arms too much as they are full (I’m a street size 12 right now), so I am considering wearing a wedding gown with sleeves. They seem to be hard to find these days, though.
In the 1980s and before, they seemed to be the norm.
Whether you wore a bolero, lace jacket, or your dress came with sleeves already, I would be grateful if you could post pics of you wearing your dress or the model wearing it. Thank you!

I’ve been posting mine all around, but here she is! This is a lace bolero jacket that buttons up the back, which I bought separately from my dress. The actual dress is Casablanca 2012, which has beaded cap sleeves. But I don’t have any pictures of me with those on. I’m ordering with the sleeves removed.

@spotted_giraffe: Wow, that is really very elegant. I like your sleeves better than the original. Nice touch with off-the-shoulder. Why did you decide to get sleeves? Is it a personal modesty or church issue? You certainly don’t look like you need to cover your arms for aesthetic reasons.

@Bunny_the_Bride: Good question – it was mostly a style reason.
I just liked how it looked. My church does not require it. I didn’t go into the shops saying 100% that I would not buy a strapless, but I really wanted something a little different, without being flashy. I was very sure that if I got sleeves on my dress, I wanted it all to look cohesive. I didn’t want it to look like I added them on just for my church. So that’s how I settled on this particular jacket style, which went perfectly with many lace dresses.
So just try things on and see what works for you! If you like a dress but it does not have sleeves, ask the shop what jackets they have. Usually they won’t bring them out. The sales girl said that the one I have had only been tried on twice in the two years she had been there.
Also, if you like Casablanca, they are easy to add straps or even an entirely different top of a dress to the bottom of another. So that opens up so many more options for you when you are searching.

@Bunny_the_Bride: It’s not a very good pic of the sleeves, but this is my dress with sleeves!

@Bunny_the_Bride: Thanks! I guess they do have some similarities! It looks much better now that the alterations are underway (I don’t have to hold it up anymore, lol)!

@Bunny_the_Bride: Thanks! It’s the dress I always dreamed of as a little girl. There aren’t too many long sleeved dresses out there. I went to a local bridal shop, Alfred Angelo and then finally Davids Bridal (that’s where I got it.) But beware, my alterations cost me $550+, so make sure it fits as good as possible.

@Bunny_the_Bride: I was trying to find a pic of the back, to show you how beautiful it is, but I dont have all my pics from the photographer yet. This dress has the longest train Davids Bridal has too (required a 23 point bustle)

@Janaic88: Great pic and princess-y dress! Is it a full lace back?
