I got married back in November and while it wasn’t hot, I was still worried about the dreaded thigh rub. Wearing a big, heavy wedding gown can make you sweat even if it’s 45 degrees. I purchased several shorts style undergarments to try under my wedding gown but one in particular was amazing. In fact, I’ve worn them almost every time I’ve worn any dress in the past 6 months. I live in the south and not only do these shorts not roll..at ALL (seriously!)…they’re very thin and light so they aren’t hot (and you don’t bulge out in weird places). I read several posts with brides very concerned about thigh rub so if I can help any of the, great! I will say that these are not suck you in and make you super smooth type shorts…they do offer a little bit of smoothing but not as much as spanx would. They’re AMAZING for staying in place and keeping you dry and rub free!
They’re the “Yummie by Heather Thomson Shorts – Paper Dolls Jordan” I got mine at Bloomingdales.

hahaha thank you so much for posting this. No joke, I was just talking about this with my girlfriends. I’ve just started dress shopping and I was sweating through the entire appointment. These will be necessary! Thanks again 😀

Bicycle shorts also do essentially the same thing. Might be cheaper for some people who aren’t too interested with sucking in or smoothing.

Hahaha…I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this sooner, that’s always a problem for me in the summer while wearing dresses! Thanks for the info!

I worried about it but didn’t even notice it! I was too busy having fun. 🙂

You can also apply deoderant on the insides of your thighs. Works great!

I am wearing spandex capris (almost like yoga capris, but without the fold over on top). Goes right down to my knees. And i already had them, so they were free for me!

I would love a pair of these! My worry is when I have to pee, in addition to pulling up my big tulle skirt, I’ll have to pull down some shorts too. Are they super tight and easy to put back once you’ve taken them down, you know?

they aren’t super tight- they’re honestly not much tighter than underwear so you don’t have to worry about them bunching up in weird places or not being able to get them back up.

Body glide;) or good ole deodorant will do. I also married in November but it’s a chubby girl trick I learned a while back lol

Ha this is such a funny topic. I just always wear panty hose (always, under all skirts or dresses) and always assumed I’d wear under my gown. the only reason i wear it is to prevent rub and it works like a charm.

If you rub deodorant between your thighs that works really well too!!
