@crystalrae:  I used Whippt for my cake/cupcakes.  My guests could not stop talking about how amazing the cupcakes were!!  And she made a small cake for us to cut and keep for our 1 year anniversary which I can’t wait to eat in a month!  She works out of the Sirocco Golf Club which is where we had our wedding.  I thought she was very reasonably priced and Alison has a great portfolio and has won awards!

I think I first made contact with her about a year before the wedding to give her a general idea and book the date, and had the cake tasting about 3 months prior which I then told her exactly what we wanted and she took a deposit of $125 I believe.  She was super easy to work with, very accomodating and was getting married herself so was super understanding!

For 85 cupcakes and the 6 inch cake it was $290.  We also had a rustic theme so she rented us log risers for an additional $35.

For AV rentals and a DJ, I highly recommend Monarch Music. The owner is a personal friend and also DJed my wedding. My guests gave me great reviews after the wedding. It was a blast.

The web site is monarchmusic.ca, if you’d like more info. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Ryansgirl:  Thank you for the cake suggestion!  I just emailed Allison too… I want something other than Crave, or Miss Cupcake, etc etc that everyone keeps referring me to!

We used The Little Cupcake shoppe in Mackenzie Towne.  They were very cost effective and willing to do whatever I asked.   Soooo tastey!

@crystalrae:  I went to Liliana Knitwear Alterations. Liliana did a fantastic job. As for price, I’m not sure what’s considered high and what’s low, when it comes to alterations. All I had was cups sewn in and also a french bustle added to my dress, and she charged $250. The alterations were done within two weeks. Liliana seems to be a pretty popular choice – I noticed she had a wall full of pictures of her brides she did alterations for on their wedding day. She’s also been at it for 40 years.
