I tried on 10 white dresses and one that was recommended by the store owner….a gold/champagne dress. AND I FELL IN LOVE with the color and the back of the dress…not so much the front. This is a Mori Lee 9126
:

Anyone else wear a champange/gold dress? Thoughts? I’m looking for a dress with this type of back and possibly color but with either a tube top or a top with straps of some sort.

I hadn’t ruled out champage. I wanted to feel “Bridey” and thought vibrant or dark colors would feel more like a prom dress but am fine with ivory, champagne or blush. They still look like wedding dresses. The back is AMAZING. The front would be nice if it had a blingy sash.

GORGEOUS Dress… and it looks beautiful on you.
I ended up with a very flowy Ivory Destination Dress for our Elopement / Destination Wedding (Vows on the Beach)
But originally, I wanted this Dress, which was Champagne Coloured and is Lisette by Rivini… fell in love the second I saw it (Spring 2013 line)
Unfortunately it was… super expensive, and not available in time for my Wedding (for awhile I even considered having it made offshore… IF my Wedding was now, that is what I’d do for sure… as I still love this dress, and have to admit I have tinges of dress regret that still bother me)

It too has a great back, and the sash is optional… I thought of switching it out for a blingy belt, or going without.
Hope this helps,

@Pixienickie: The back is really sold me on it and I honestly didn’t think I’d like champagne but now here I am. And I’ve thought about blush too but I haven’t tried a blush dress on yet.
@This Time Round: I haven’t seen anything like this yet…LOVE the idea of mixing white and champagne like this, really the best of both worlds!!! Thanks for sharing this one, now I’ve got MORE ideas to consider haha!

Me me me! *waves hands* I fell in love with champagne/light gold dresses immediately, and love what they do with my coloring (redhead, super fair skin). I’m wearing the Casablanca 1827 in champage (which Mrs. Champagne wore here: http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/02/23/portraits-the-non-snowy-version/#axzz2kAxJQAbr). It has a slight sweetheart neckline and lower back, so it might be worth trying on. 🙂
The dress that made me fall in love with gold is the Mori Lee 1903 (http://www.morilee.com/bridals/bridal/1903). I saw it across the floor at a bridal show and immediately had to go hug it. The empire waist line ended up not working for me, but it’s oh so gorgeous.
I know Maggie Sottero has some pretty gold/champage/alabaster dresses too. I love that “colorful” wedding dresses are a big thing right now…gives us plenty of options! 🙂
(Also, and I should have started off with this, but you look amazing in that dress!)

OOOoooh I love your dress! Mine just had a champagne sash but the rest of the dress was ivory. Ivory just worked better for my skintone. I love the champagne dresses though!

@Sugar_and_Spice: I’ve been totally checking out the Mori Lee website link for the last hour or so lol. And I’ve only been on here about 9 months, I was not familiar with Mrs. Champagne so thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the compliment! I tried this dress on at a going out of business sale..it’s only 100.00. I just can’t tell if this is *the* dress…I’m only pre-engaged the actual engagement hasn’t happened yet haha!! (should be soon though!)
I don’t like the front/halter style. I hate the way it looks on my chest….and I’m not sure with all the beadwork that someone can change it to a strapless or tube top/sweetheart/etc.

@Sugar_and_Spice: I am red headed and fair skinned too! Stark white was AWFUL on me! Ivory wasn’t hitting it either. When I tried my dress on I knew it was the one and the most compliments I got on it in the store was how well it went with my hair and skin tone!

@veryberry13: Gorgeous dress! You look so amazing in it. The dress that still gives me dress regret for not purchasing is a champagne Matthew Christopher gown:

Excuse my flailing arms in this shot (wasn’t expecting the picture):

This is mine! I bought it at a consignment shop and the lady that owned it before me used tea to dye the dress! You can’t tell the color that well in this picture but it is definitely champagne!

This one makes it look blush colored for some reason, but you can tell it isn’t white in this picture
