Absolutely. I’m at my heaviest ever and I feel horrible about myself. I had to order a 24. A 22 fits my waist but not my bust. Im really nervous about it. It was a struggle to feel beautiful but the perfect dress gives you confidence.

You our will rock your dress. Don’t pay attention to the size on the dress!!

Like pp, I agree you have to find what fits your body and style. I bought a dress but didnt love it. I then went back and bought the dress I did love but had deemed unaffordable. Thankfully when I went back the 2nd time it was on sale. Anyway. This is me in a size 18, I ordered a 20 so I can wear a bra on my wedding day. But for fitting purposes I squeezed into an 18 which meant no bra. LOL  Just for reference, Im a street size 18-20 on top and a full 24 on bottom. This dress shows my small waist and covers my hips.and thighs, which I love.

Remember one thing: Bridal Sizes Are Ridiculous.

That was my mantra when I went dress shopping. I wear a street size 20 solidly but had to purchase a 24 dress. I started at the Costco of dress shopping, David’s Bridal and was prepared to only have one or two dresses that might fit  and had then planned to hit the local strip of wedding shops-and suffer through even less of a selection- I didn’t even make it there.  I was so wrong! There were almost too many dresses and I was overwhelmed and ended up going back for a second appointment to decide between the three I liked!  My worries were nullified when I saw how many options I had.

I have been dressing my body for a lot of years but I went in with an open mind and chose some dresses but also let my consultant pull some for me. I ended up picking one that I chose, but she pulled one of the finalists so don’t be afraid to let your consultant try and offer you some suggestions and DO not be afraid to ask for a new consultant if your consultant doesn’t seem to understand what you want or is pushing you in to something you’re not comfortable in.

Also feel to ask for a consultant who has had experience with plus size brides, they are sometimes a bit more understanding, and know what looks good. I firmly believe having the right consultant makes the experience so much more fun and enjoyable!

Good luck and I hope you find something that makes you feel beautiful!

Confession: I am absolutely dreading dress shopping! I am currently a street size 14 (down from an 18 earlier this year). My wedding is in September 2016 and I refuse to start shopping until October in hopes that I can get down another size before then.

I just anticipate it being such a frustrating, demoralizing experience with sample sizes and what not. :/

Remember the important thing ladies, your fiances fell in love with YOU as YOU are.

I had all intentions of getting fit for the wedding, but due to health issues I have not been able to follow through with that.  I’m wearing a size 16 wedding dress, and I’m totally 100% fine with that.  I’m a 12/14 in street clothes and my fiance finds me incredibly attractive.  I’ve always had body issues, but I think the process of planning a wedding has allowed me to be comfortable with who I am.  Every day I know that my fiance finds me attractive, despite my tummy and my thunder thighs.  I know that having cameras on you all day the day of the wedding is terrifying, but remember the important thing: you are marrying a man who you love and who loves you.

Would love to see you in the dresses. We are are own critics. Beauty comes from inside. I’m also an older 2nf time bride and also ordered a size 16. I still feel fat in it but everyone else says it looks great. Alterations are not done yet. You’re fiancé loves you big or small. ( I need to keep telling myself that too).
