i went to DBs and tried on a TON of dresses. at one point i was deciding between 3 dresses.  in the end, there was something not quite about them all so i went to other stores.  too bad though because the price was right at DB!

here were a couple of my faves from DB

Me, me! My dress was really inexpensive, but it’s beautiful and a classic style. I can wear any veil, any shoes or accessories, and I plan on wearing a lace bolero because it gives SUCH a beautiful silhouette with the sweetheart neckline.

I love that I have so many options with my beeeautiful dress.

Anyway, here it is:

And here it is on me:

The sash isn’t happening. I wish it wasn’t in the picture. Not very flattering the way it was laying. I also chose not to buy the tulle thingy-guy.Undecided

@eloping – so true.  Those VW dresses are stunning too, wish I had time to wait for them.  They had samples at a local wedding show and the fabric is stunning.  So jealous of the brides that have time to get one.

I had a great experience at DB! I did go to a store that was more out of the way so it was really empty when I went and I basically had everyone’s attention lol

@emersynsmommy35: I have that exact same dress!!  Did you get the one with the train??

Well, as you’ve started to see, you aren’t alone! πŸ™‚

I’m a DB bride too! πŸ™‚ Here is me in the dresses 2 different times (forgive the lighting and small pic. size).

Any more dress twins for DB wg9828 dress?? I would love to see pics!! : wedding Md.yay.jpg  Any more dress twins for DB wg9828 dress?? I would love to see pics!! : wedding C.jpg

Here’s what the dress look like on the model:

Though I too had heard mixed reviews about DB, I went and tried them anyway and found I had a pretty good experience.  My 1st appt. there I was there for probably 3-4 hrs.! The consultant was really helpful and the next time I went, a few days later, I got another consultant who was also very helpful and friendly.

(My experience though overall w. the wedding dress situation was that I felt I needed to rush to get my dress b/c I had previously purchased one online and didn’t try it on for like a year! πŸ™ I know foolish. I thought it’d work. Anyway, so after hearing the horror stories of dresses taking months to come in, knowing my wedding is in April, I made a more quick decision in less than a week’s time in November to ensure I’d have time for the dress).

I sometimes feel like I should’ve still taken more time, but with all that I’ve been through so far, I’m pretty happy w. my choice and do feel my dress looks like it can compete w. a lot of more designer dresses out there and I know I didn’t spend as much as I would have had I gone to a ‘better’ designer.

So, good luck and glad to also hear there are other DB brides out there too….

I am…I am!  I don’t get what’s wrong with buying a dress at DB. I mean, who doesn’t want to save some $$ by getting a reasonably priced dress that you are going to wear for a few hours.  They are definitely stepping it up with the selections.  I tried on six dresses and found “the one”.   My experience was good, and I got an awesome dress for about $270.

I’m a DB Bride!  I went to 2 “normal” stores first.  The first one was nice enough, but a bit out of my price range.  The second was a disaster; the consultant we had (for an appointment!) kept leaving to talk to other brides, and every single dress she brought out was WAAAAAAY above the price range we’d given her.  The dresses she suggested were these huge 80-pound tulle monstrosities, when I’d specifically said that I was having a simple July wedding and didn’t want to feel like a barbie.  Plus, the only dresses I asked for were 2 sizes too small, or 6(!!!!!!) sizes too large.  No thanks.

At DB, they treated me like an absolute princess.  The consultant was AMAZING, every single dress she brought me was a hit, and she was totally willing to work with my budget.  They had everything in my size, and I walked out that day with a dress that fit like a glove, was less than HALF my budget, and was exactly what I wanted.

Screw that “WalMart of Weddings” thing.  Instead of spending $3k on a dress that I’m only going to wear for an evening, I’d rather put it towards my honeymoon.  Plus, I look HOT in my $400 dress.

I had a great experience at David’s Bridal. The workers were all wonderfully supportive and gave suggestions when I needed them. The dress I picked out (in the pictures) was actually a suggestion by the store manager. They have also been very helpful in making sure my bridesmaid dresses are ordered in a timely manor. Also, when I couldn’t find the hair accessories I wanted they gave me suggestions for other bridal stores in the area that may have what I’m looking for.

@sali2011 and caelanarcher: haha. Nice! πŸ™‚ That’s true… why have to spend $$$$ when it’s only for a few hours. I guess sometimes I get caught up too into the whole wedding world and think that if I didn’t get a ‘big name designer’ that it’s not good enough. But I know that isn’t true..

Thanks for the humorous reminder to keep things in perspective. πŸ˜‰

i got my dress at david’s bridal also! style wg9871. i paid $350 for it and paired it with this mori lee alecon lace bolero ($200).

i received so many complements on my dress it was insane! people kept telling me how gorgeous it was. one of my uncles even told me about a week or so after the wedding that it was the most beautiful wedding dress he had ever seen. πŸ˜€

you have no idea how insanely happy that makes me!

several people commented on the bridesmaids’ dresses too, and they were from david’s as well. i think if you know how to work with what you’ve got, anyhing can be made to look like a million bucks! πŸ™‚

i’ll see if i can snag a few guest pics off of facebook to post here.

I had an amazing experience at DB! The day I went there was only 1 other person trying on dresses and they left about a half hour into my appointment so I was lavished with attention haha. I was there for about 3 1/2 – 4 hours trying on dresses and seriously had every consultant and the manager working with me and pulling dresses. It was super fun! I bought my dress there and didn’t go to any other shops at all. The people were so nice and helpful. I think DB gets a really bad rap, but I am super pleased with my purchase and the customer service. I am def going elsewhere for alterations though (needs to be taken in and steamed to get rid of the lines on the torso)! Anyway, here’s my dress!

I am a proud DB bride, too!!! I couldn’t justify spending a couple thousand on a dress and accessories I’ll wear ONCE! I went in and found this dress and it was NOTHING like I was looking for!! I LOVE it and can’t wait until April!!

Yay for thrifty DB brides! πŸ™‚

Nice dresses ladies!!

I. like most posters did not plan on getting my dress at DB either. I had it set in my head that I was going to do a Maggie dress and purchase from a boutique…. However, last weekend I went in there to look at bridesmaids dresses and ended up with MY DRESS!!!
