I wore a David’s Bridal dress.  However, I didn’t buy it from David’s Bridal.  When I went to David’s Bridal, they always wanted me to tell them from the catalog which dresses I wanted to try on.  My feeling was that if I could tell from just a picture, I could buy online.  I wanted someone who could help me pick out dresses that would look good on me, and I could not get that from them.

That being said, if you do have some specific dresses you would like to try on, they should be fine for that.  Just remember that even if you get the dress from them, you don’t need to use their alterations service, which tends to be more expensive (and less reliable) than a good independent seamstress.

I am a DB bride!  I had a great experience there!  I know there are some horror stories out there about DB, but my time there wasn’t a horror story.  My consultant was very friendly and not pushy!  It was great for me because I had a really tight budget for my dress, and I found one I loved!  Good luck!

I purchased my dress from David’s Bridal and I had a wonderful experience. I went on a Tuesday morning (I may or may not have called in sick to work Smile) and I think that really helped. There was only one other bride there so I had the place pretty much to myself. Definately look on their website and have some styles in mind but my consultant was also cool with me looking through the racks. I didn’t get any of my accessories there (shoes, veil, etc.) and I suggest looking around at other places for that stuff.

I purchased my dress from David’s and have had a great experience. I am going to an independant seamstress for alterations though, just because less expensive.

I purchased my dress from DB too. When I went to the one in Miami the lady was unbearable (and insisted that I would look like a Quinceanera without a veil). When I went to the one in Tallahassee (I’m a Nole) it was quite pleasant and I had no problems. I think it just depends. I did have a bunch of styles printed out that I liked (and that helped).

the issues always seem to come with alterations. my bridesmaids tried on dresses there and were extremely discouraged by the poor quality of some of the dresses for the price ($125 for a hem that was obviously badly sewn – even from a few feet away in pictures!) we found department store dresses with better quality for a better price. A nice place to get started and weed out what you do/don’t like, but I wouldn’t purchase a dress from them or ask my friends to.

I bought my dress there and had no problems at all. I bought right off the rack though and the dress was quite dirty and somehow in my excitement I didn’t notice that.  But it can be cleaned….”o)  The price was right!!
