I’m embarassed to be writing this, I had a dental appointment yesterday and I have a couple cavities =/. I’ve had one cavity in all my life and here I am with more. I’m in Dental Hygiene school, my toothbrushing and flossing habits have improved and I still got cavities. The dentist said same thing happened to her when she was in Dental School, no cavaties and then all of sudden in her first year of school she had 4. Strangest thing! Did this happen to anybody else? I was feeling really sad about it yesterday, like how can I be a good dental hygienist with a mouth full of restorative work…(sigh)
On a better note, I would like to get my teeth whitened before my wedding but I’ve heard it’s cheaper once your licensed. Unfortunatley I won’t have my license till a few weeks after my wedding! I can’t decide if I should wait or get it done before. I might also try some of the strips but I’ve never had very good results with them.
My question to hygienists and assistants is do you get discounted services when you work in an office? This applies to any restorative work you need (hopefully I won’t need any more!) and whitening.
