Ugh, I am going through the same thing. I think I’m going to go through Sam’s Club flowers. You can look at their reviews and website; apparently they do amazing work and it’s super inexpensive.

We’re DIYing them but haven’t decided where to get the flowers from. Not sure if you’re near the Pittsburgh area (I know a lot of girls get married in Deep Creek, MD from around here) but there are some organic farms around that sell fresh flowers. Or Sam’s Club or Giant Eagle Market District. Not really sure about online flowers, though. Haven’t considered it yet.

I will be making my own centerpieces (tall vases with branches) and adding fresh flowers 1-2 days before the wedding. My parents are Costco members so I’m getting them from there. They have really great prices and awesome service!

I did my own flowers! I ordered bulk from sams club (i would def recommend them) and had them delivered on thursday for a saturday wedding. i kept it simple and stuck with just roses. I had watched my SIL do her flowers 6 months before so i felt pretty confident i could do them too. It was fairly easy, just make sure you give yourself enough time (like a few hours) and have a few people to help you.

my bouquet 🙂

We ordered ours from a floral wholesale place near where I live. We paid about 450 dollars for tons of flowers…we had enough stuff to make two large altar arrangements, three bridesmaid bouquets, a bridal bouquet, a flower girl bouquet, 11 centerpieces, and a few smaller arrangements for the cake table, gift table, cocktail tables, etc.

My best advice would be to flexible with the types of flowers you are interested in…I really wanted ranunculus but was told they weren’t the hardiest flower and instead ordered light peach carnations. Also, if you order tons of greenery, it cuts down on your floral cost and makes your flowers look more professional. Feel free to PM me if you have other questions!

@kate169: Those are really similar to what we’re going for! Very nice!

EDIT: was it warm outside? Did the hydrangeas hold up?

@Roe: It was warm but not overly hot…it was about 80-85 all day. We actually bought all the flowers on Wednesday and arranged them on Thursday. My mom kept them in her dining room with the air set on 65 and they were fine. They actually held up a lot better than the peonies as long as we kept them hydrated. The hydrangeas in my bouquet were wilty by the end of the night, but the ones in the arrangements were still looking good.

We are DIYing as well… plan on using Sams club to order flowers and keeping bouquets simple. Just babys breath for bouquets and just carnation balls on the tables
