I managed to get Fiance to watch the new series with me after a SERIOUS mishap over the very first episode – because he had a HUGE issue with the animated recycling bins eating people. HUGE.

We both LOVE Doctor Who – #11 is our favorite so far (though Fiance disagrees, he says he likes #10 better). We haven’t been keeping up (not that there’s much to keep up with), but I’m SERIOUSLY excited for the new Doctor!
And, John Hurt was possibly my favorite doctor because of how CRANKY he was! I had a lot of fun watching that episode.

@CakeyP: To be honest, (and I like Sci Fi) when I saw the first episode with the 9th doctor, I thought it was a little cheesy too. However, my brother had started me off watching the first couple of episodes of the 11th doctor’s run, so I knew it was going to get to a good place. Do you know when the next season is supposed to start?

@KoiKove: My favorite companions are the same as yours but in different order: 1. Clara, 2. Amy Pond, 3. Donna Noble. I actually really enjoy the chemistry between Clara and the 11th doctor so I’ll be curious to see what it’s like with her and Peter Capaldi.

@MrsTeasandkeys: I dislike Matt too. And River Song. I feel like an outsider a lot in the New Whovians because of it.
Matt as an actor just annoys me. Watching interviews with him he is unable to maintain eye contact. Even on Top Gear. He is always looking uncomfortable like he doens’t want to be there on screen. Even when he is acting “excited” I get that impression.
I also wish they would have left River in The Library and more to my imagination. What I imagined after The Library was so much better than her whole story arch. Some of the best parts of watching the show is imagining what happens to the characters after the Doctor changes their lives. Some revisits are okay (the Satilite 5 arch was awesome because it showed how you can’t just pop in and fix something and expect everything to work out) But River’s story ended in the library, and I would have loved it staying that way.
I am very excited for Peter to take over the controls. He is going to bring back the angry 1200 year old doctor that I miss. Some of David’s and Chir’s best moments where when they were foaming from the mouth because someone made a royal mistake, or when they got that look that said “I don’t have a plan, so be very afraid.” Matt couldn’t pull off either. I think Peter will be able to do both.

@Misswhowedding: I completely agree with your point in the last paragraph. One of my favorite David Tennant moments was at the end of The Christmas Invasion (at the beginning of his run) when he completely chewed out the Prime Minister for blowing up the alien ship.

I WANT to like Matt… I REALLY REALLY DO! I WANT to like Moffat’s writing as much and I SO desperately wanted to like River because some people go CRAZY about her… but I just don’t.
11’s reign has made me feel nothing but uncomfortable. I like Amy, thats literally it.

@AutumnRose781: I’m glad to see some Clara love. She seems to be not very well liked on the interweb. I liked the chemistry and was plesantly surprised at how much I like her.
So…if you could be anyone on Doctor Who, who would it be? The 10th Doctor? Rose? The Master?

Huge Whovian here. i think 11/12 is my doctor.

@KoiKove: If I could be any companion, I would be Clara. I love how she saved the Doctor. She’s very strong, yet sweet and I like that.
If I could be any doctor, I’d be the tenth doctor for sure.
