I’m having trouble adjusting to Doctor #12. I really like Peter, but 1) I miss Doctor #11 (love, love, love Matt Smith) and 2) weird seeing Clara with a different Doctor. I felt the same way when Rose had to switch from 9 to 10. I wasnt the biggest Chris E. fan or Rose fan, but seeing her with David Tenant took me a few episodes to get used to. One thing I liked with #11, was he had a fresh companion and I didnt have to deal with chemistry shifts.

Did any of you know that Billie Piper and Matt Smith dated (I think prior to his days as Doctor Who)?

KoiKove:  *KABOOM!* Billie and “the Chin”!? You just blew my friggin mind. Side note, I never know whether to refer to him as the chin or the forehead *facepalm*.

David Tennant is my Doctor. I want to have his little Time Lord babies. Torchwood is awesome sauce as well!

I havnt seen the new episodes with Peter yet. I may have to download them ASAP.

MrsGolden2Bee:  And I was just reading that Billie’s husband was talking to Matt at a party and mentioned that their kid (Billie’s and this guy) LOVED Matt Smith’s Doctor and watches him all the time. Can you imagine not only having your spouse’s Ex be famous, but now you have to watch him all the time because your kid loves him? UGH!

It’s going to take me a while to get used to the new doctor. Although I did feel the same about the others as well. I’m a new Whovian – I started watching this year, but binge watched all the seasons. So there was very little transition time between each doctor.

No one else has mentioned the new episode yet, so I won’t include any spoilers. But it’s definitely a new doctor!

KoiKove:  Hahaha, that would be TERRIBLE! Unless they had an amicable break up. That would be alright then. Who knows, maybe Matt pop’s round to Billie’s place for tea every now and then?

11 is definitely my Doctor.  I couldn’t stand how emo Tenant’s Doctor got as the series went on and the only redeeming part of Rose for me was her Bad Wolf storyline.

Smith’s portrayal of the Doctor reminds me A LOT of 2; quirky, fun, but can be very serious at times and you can always catch that glint of anger/sadness in his eyes.  That being said I do think the River Song storyline became very convoluted and I can’t wait to see Peter’s portrayal of the 12th Doctor!!!

Love Doctor Who! 11 is my Doctor too and like ‘lunathea I love how Matt Smith managed to both be fun and serious all at once.

Was very excited to see Peter though and now I’m even more excited to see him develop in the role!

MrsGolden2Bee:  From the article, it seemed that Matt and Billie had a good post-relationship breakup. So it appears no hard feelings. And her husband was laughing and joking with Matt. I just think it would be slightly annoying that my son was so enamoured with my spouses ex-lover (even if the relationship now was amicable)

I watched the first two episodes last night and I’m “meh” on the new doctor. Hopefully they can bring more personality out in the character as I think they are showing rather flat right now. I’ll keep watching but I’m not sure he is the right fit for the role but it may be the newness. I was not a fan of 9, loved 10, 11 was a fluent progression, but I’m just not getting the leap to 12 yet.

Just watched the 2nd episode—I totally have a girl crush on Clara. 12th is growing on me, but still not love.
