not sure where to even post this..
i have had a desk job for just about 10 years now and recently iv noticed that my knees are in so much pain. i all the sudden get this sharp pain in my knees like i have a bunch of needles poking me (and i hate needles). sometimes it hurts i cant walk on it so i have to sit with my legs straight and wait for it to go away. it doesnt last long but i still have pain. when im at work all day i just sit and massage my knees and try to stretch them out as much as possible. so at work and after work is when i notice the pain. on weekends i dont notice is as much cause im not bending my knees all day. but i still get the casual needle poking feeling.
im wondering if its from having my knees bent all day or weight or even lack of exercise.
im not obese but do need to lose weight. im 5’8 145lbs.
any suggestions doctorbees??

Where exactly is the pain? And I don’t think you need to lose any weight!

Im a soon to be graduating Athletic Training Student and have worked very closely with physical therapists and sports medicine doctors. PM me with some more details, I may be able to shed some light onto this.
Where is the pain located? Is it deep inside your knee joint above or below your kneecap, right behind your knee cap, behind your knee?
On a scale of 0-10 how bad does the pain get? 0 is no pain at all, 10 is call an ambulance I need to go to the hospital.
Are there any other times you notice it? Certain movements. Squatting down, tieing your shoes, etc. or is it only when you sit for long periods of time.
Do you notice any crunchy feeling in your knee? any snapping or popping?
sorry this is long winded, but the big thing with orthopedic issues is the little details a lot of the time. 🙂

TheRookieYear pain is behind the knee cap, i dont feel any crunchy, snapping, or popping feeling going on. i can handle the pain its just really annoying ya know. im going to say that when im sitting at work and knees start bothering me its about a 2 and when the needle poking feeling happens its about maybe 4.5-5 its deff. not bad enough to call the ambulance but when the needle poking feeling happens i have to take pressure off that leg.
starts when im sitting for a long period but even when i leave work and walk around i can still feel it. just weekends when i dont work i dont notice it cause i dont sit and bend my legs for 9 hours straight.
