I need some help. I need to decide whether I should take the job I was offered today or decline and hope I get the one I just interviewed for this morning. Part of the reason Im thinking about declining is the salary. Has anyone ever made a counter offer when it was their first entry level job? Any advice is welcomed 🙂

Congratulations on the job offer! What are your thoughts about this job, salary aside? Do you like the company and the role and responsibilities you would have? Aside from salary, how are the other benefits? And how far is the salary from what you’d want it to be? (You don’t have to be specific.)
And how does the company, role, and responsibilities of the offered job compare to the job you just interviewed for?
You can counter when it comes to salary, you just have to be smart about it. Hopefully with a few more details, we can help you out!

Make a counter offer! You have nothing to lose. I was too DUMB to do this for my first job, but I really should have. For my second job, you can bet I counter-offered and got a higher salary. Totally do it, and consider mentioning that you have already had interviews for similar but higher-paid positions.
Also feel free to request some time to make your decision – you may be able to get enough of an extension to find out whether the other job will pan out or not.
