I’ve finally decided I’m going to bite the bullet and go back to school. I would really love to be a make up artist but I see most programs are in the general field of esthetician.
Are you an esthetician? How do you like it? What kind of setting do you work in? Would you do it all over again? Any advice?

@sunshine_kar: I’m a cosmetologist, which is a closely related field. I went to an Aveda school, which also offered an esthetician program. I have several friends who are estheticians.
You can go into make-up artistry alone or do a combination of make-up artistry, facials, waxes, and skin treatments. I know MAC trains their artists and you don’t have to have an esthetician license to work for them. Estheticians make the majority of their money from waxing. Waxing includes eyebrows, upper lip, legs, arms, and bikini. Some estheticians do brazilian waxes, as well.
