My sis-in-law just made her first sale in her etsy store and I want to get her something for Christmas to help her with her business. What would be good? Something to help cover the cost of shipping her packages? Craft related items?

i sell on ebay not etsy, but I would love a USPS shipping scale (or just a shipping scale) so I can package and ship from home. USPS along with other carriers offer discounts if you purchase postage online but I hate halving to drive to the post office just to weigh my items. Plus you can do carrier pick up and never have to go to the post office!

@mmr66: Thank you! I was thinking along those very same lines. How expensive are they?

I sell on etsy, and congrats on your sister’s first sale! =]
On etsy the look of your store is very important, and I don’t know if your sister has a banner and whatnot, but there are some sellers on etsy who will sell custom banners for stores, etc.
It’s worth checking into!

@jjmomma: here’s the link to the ones the USPS sells
Depending on what she sells I’m sure the 5lb one would be sufficient. I sell all sorts of stuff (shoes, clothes, toys, etc) and have never gone over five pounds.

I’m an ex Etsy seller (That place is garbage tbh. Full of chinese resellers.) but, if you wanted to help out, you could buy her supplies relevent to her craft, or perhaps buy her business cards or perhaps small freebies to give out in her samples to entice people.
