Hi bees! Long story short, I’ve decided I want a second dress to change into for our reception. With my wedding about 6 weeks away, I’m searching for a specific Priscilla of Boston dress that’s available on both of these sites. I have zero experience buying from either one and have been searching for some reviews. Have any bees purchase from these sites and can share personal experiences/reviews? Thanks in advance!!!

I would also love to know if anyone have purchased on these sites?

I have a lot of experience both the buying and selling side of preowned and oncewed. Being engaged for so long I have bought and sold a couple dresses! It really depends on who you deal with just like buying anything off the internet like craigslist you have to kind of get a feel of the person by exchanging e-mails and speaking on the phone. But so far everyone I’ve dealt with have all been legit and super nice. If you’re nervous try to deal locally and stick to paypal or escrow.
Since I’m in NY I have also helped a few friends with their purchases, they’d have me drop by to see the condition of the dress or make sure the seller wasn’t creepy. A nice seller will offer a lot of pictures, exact measurements, list any alterations done and also close ups of any rips or tears.

I’ve sold things on preownedweddingdresses and haven’t had any bad experiences. When you buy things you deal with the seller directly. So just make sure they are legit in their emails and always pay via a secure method like paypal.
The only problems I’ve had selling on that site is that I get a lot of people saying they want to buy something and then I never hear from them again. It wastes my time!

I sold a dress and still dealing with unpleasant buyer. I don’t know what will happen next, but she contacts me yesterday to tell me that the dress is too short for her. I told her the first/original owner who sold the dress to me is 5’4″ and wore 4″ heels, and I bought the dress, cleaned it (spent $550 on cleaning) and sold for $300 less than my purchased price which i lost over close to $900 including paypal fees.
I am 5’2″ and tried on the dress with 5.5″ heels before and after dry clean and the length was still the same. Also the dry cleaning company has everything done by hand (they hand treated areas that needed) so the dress is in perfect condition.
She wants to wear 5″ platform which now the dress is too short for 5″ platform. The original owner wore 4″ but they are not platform. For someone who is 5’4″ should not expect to wear 5″ plat-form heels, I don’t think any wedding dress designer make dresses long enough for that. If extra length needed it would need to be special ordered with additional fees and brand new.
The dress I sold was size 4 bridal size, Monique Lhuillier, has never been altered or hem so could fit up to 5’7.5″ or 5’8″ including shoes.
I guess she is making excuses for this and also because she was confused between this dress and another dress, want to wait for more time to decide, but ended up buying it couple of days earlier b/c she worried that the dress would be sold to another buyer which I would have sold to another buyer had she not wanting to purchase the dress from me. I even offered a better price to her than to my other buyer because I was weary to sell to brides oversea.
Well, I dealth with unpleasant issues when i bought the dresss, took almost $1000 loss to sell the dress then now have to deal with issues as a seller too…it’s sux to be me right now.
