I’m not going to lie I just googled the designer because I never heard of them and there’s only 1 store within 50 miles of my zip code and I went there.  Are they a foreign brand?  Maybe they just aren’t as available here in the US?  Or theyre having a hard time competing with maggie and casablanca and davids?

If you really like it, you wont be satisfied until you seek them out, regardless of what other bees say.

My guess would be that they’re just not as widely known or advertised. I looked on the website and Dere Kiang belongs to House of Wu who produces several different lines in formalwear, etc … They’re probably low key suppliers to your local bridal/prom/evening wear store. Probably like the prom dresses Daffy’s carries where you have no idea who the designer is, but they produce a lot of generic, affordable formalwear.

My dress is the Dere Kiang 11052, and I love it!! I had never heard of the brand either when I purchased it (a small rural formal wear shop). It’s chiffon and organza, and is so incredibly comfortable and light. I haven’t had any issues with my dress, except for it can not be dry-cleaned, but I think that has more to do with the textured skirt than anything. I’ve had it for almost a year and it’s my guilty pleasure to try it on a couple of times every couple of months or so Embarassed and it’s still in as good of condition as when I picked it up!! I personally love that Dere Kiang uses a lot of chiffon, it’s so soft and romantic, and for me was much more comfortable to move in, I’m petite (and lazy) and can’t handle the weight of the more heavy materials such as satin. The price of my dress was much easier to handle as well compared to some other brands I had been looking at, which is nice Smile

Anyway, good luck with the rest of your experiences!!

@kathleens: Yay dress twins! I 100% agree with everything you said, I purchased mine today and I am so excited. The store I went to was a small boutique, they had a lot of Maggie, Casablanca, and Alfred Angelo. I didn’t really think about the brands when trying them on and just went with the ones I liked. I put this one on and knew it was the one! I cannot wait to wear it!!!! Here’s a picture of me in it from today…

I tried on 11083 this past weekend and it much more beautiful in person, and very flattering. the sweetheart neckline is beautiful and the lace on it is so pretty. Its very well made and seems like it should have a much bigger pricetag! happy shopping!!
