@TigerLily2010:

I’ve been looking at that site too.  I’m looking at the Blush dress by Jim Hjelm.  There prices are really cheap…makes you wonder.  But if it’s a legit site, what a deal!  I do know they are based out of China.  I’ve been emailing them to get information.  They sent me sample pictures of dresses they have made so they seem legit, but did you notice that a lot of their links on their site doesn’t work?  (I.E…return policy, testimonials, etc.)  I’ve been researching there site and I think they just started there site back in July…but they’ve been in business since 2000…

If you do decide to order from them, please let me know.  I’m interested in seeing how the dress comes out.

Good luck!

Ok Girls,

Here’s the deal. I just got my bridesmaid dress for Moonbasabridal.com and it was a strange experience. The dress IS NOT from the designer label that they try to make it seem like you a buying. it is a REPLICATION of that dress. They do not diclose that and are dishonest when it comes to that.

That being said. I like the dress fine, and I am not a label snob, so I don’t really care. They sent personal emails and even a handwritten card with the dress. I’m sure they are perfectly nice, but they ARE misleading people into thinking that these are legitimate dresses from the actual designers, but they aren’t.

@tigerlily: Did you end up buying your dress at moonbasabridal? I want to buy one, but do not trust the site completely since I saw similar sites as moonbasa but with different name. (http://www.weddingdressessouthafrica.com)

The dresses at Moonbasa are definitely replications.  My daughter loved the Lazaro 3004.   I ordered it for her and it was delivered very quickly.  The dress may have been fine if she hadn’t tried on the original.  It was made of much less expensive fabric and lace.  I did email them to get an RMA# to return it and they were very accomadating.  I don’t regret ordering the dress but make sure you give yourself enough time to find something different, if you don’t like it.

I would like to order the same dress Lazaro LZ 3004.  It is normally $3400 and I just can’t justify spending that kind of money on a dress.  If I can’t get a great replica, I’m going to keep looking for something else.  Does anyone have comparison pictures they can post of what Moonbasa sent?

Okay, so I just did this myself… very spur of the moment purchase. I already have an actual Maggie dress (the real deal) but something keeps nagging me in my head that it might not be the right one. So, I decided to just go for it and order a moonbasabridal replica of another Maggie dress that I really, really like. I should have it in a couple weeks! I’ll keep you posted on the outcome. If I do end up liking it, I will be selling my real Maggie then. Can’t have two dresses!!

So I was curious about this site too.  Seems too good to be true.  I emailed them inquiring if they were the real deal or if they were replicas.  I got a quick response and they were upfront letting me know that they were the designers and manufactures of all of these dresses.  The dresses are 90-95% like the designs you choose but they couldn’t guarantee 100%.  And they said I could return for full refund in 14 days in I wasn’t satisfied.  Definatly planning on a budget wedding and since I’m only gonna be wearing the gown for a few hours I really plan on ordering from here.  Would love to hear about more experiences first.

@staceynfla: Moonbasabridal sells REPLICA dress’s, NOT ORIGNIAL designer dress’s. They are made in China.

I ordered a replica, Maggie Sotterro Caprice, wedding dress which I pd. 239 dollars for. The original which I tried on at the bridal store retails for over 800 dollars. I honestly thought I would be getting a Original Maggie Sottero Dress…. I recieved the dress in 3 weeks after ordering… and the workmanship did not hold a candle to the original, the dress draped terrible as it is a form/fitting A/line style dress.The fabric was not as nice as the original and the form fitted bust didn’t lay flat against my torso and showed thru the sheer fabric… It was terrible!!! I was very upset and dissappointed to say the least.

I contacted Moonbasabridal to get return information, they gave me 3 choices for a return: 1. I could have the dress remade costing me an addtional $60 to ship. 2. They would give me a refund for what I originally paid for the dress , however they would charge me a 20% restock fee, and I would have to pay $60 to ship international. So I would end up with about 140 bucks back. 3. Moonbasa bridal would refund to my credit card a partial refund of a flat $135 and I could keep the (shabby) dress.  …… I chose the partial refund. I did not actually check on the cost to ship back, which I think is inflated anyhow,,, cause the dress was NOT Shipped in a box , instead it was shipped in a plastic type bag. It was shipped overnight as well, which might explain the $60 ship back ….. They only gave me 7 days to respond not 14 like they say in there store disclaimer information.

I will never ever do this again . I will save up and buy the Original Maggie Sottero dress or try and find a used one. Hope this helps anybody considering buying from these people.

What a rip off this turned out to be.
