Hi!  I’m a Long Island bride.  Try Studio 27 for both photo, video AND entertainment!

Personally, Studio 27 left a very bad taste in my mouth.  We only met with them for a consultation, but the man we talked to was all about being “poppin’ and fresh and cool.”  He even showed us some samples where the bridal party was sticking up their middle fingers at the camera.  I understand different people want different things, but I can’t imagine that would be the image I would choose to show a prospective customer.

We used Tommy’s Tunes and they were amazing, personable, and open to working with me.  I added a lot of personal unique touches to the evening and they were great.

Photography was Marco Photography.  Work was great, and Marco was fabulous at getting my stoic husband to smile in all of our pictures.

veryfancy:  oh Lord!  What they should have done is find out YOUR tastes and preferences and then showed you photos that were inline with what your vision was.  Good God that’s awful!

That reminds me of a phone conversation I had with Cassarino Studios.  They called me because they’re the preferred vendor of the venue I’m getting married at.  I told them I had lots of other photographers in mind but I wasn’t ready to make appointments yet.  He asked me to tell him who they were so he could give me an “honest” opinion.  Riiiiiiiiiight.  You’re really going to give me an honest opinion of your competitors?

I wasn’t considering them anyway because I do not like their photos and I’m going for a photojournalistic style, but I thought that was bad business.

Jay McElfresh.com Jay was our DJ, he’s done all our family parties. He is AMAZING. The place I got married said he was the best they’ve seen and our wedding planner after seeing him at our wedding used him for hers…lol

itsslovee331:  Hello, fellow LI bride! ๐Ÿ™‚ Check out Silver Fox Photography/Entertainment… however their name shows up (it varies on some websites) but they do photography, videography, and DJ services with options to add live elements to the ceremony/cocktailhour/reception.  I’m using them for DJ and videography since I’m bringing my photographer in from out of state.  But I’ve found their prices and reviews to be pretty great compared to other wedding companies.

FutureMrsCoolWine:  I got married at the Vineyards too!  You’ll love it!  They have what they do down to a science, and I think you get an amazing day for a very reasonable price compared to what I know my friends have paid at other venues.

veryfancy:  thank you so much for the reassurance! We fell in love with the place because it requires little to no extra decoration (they do such a good job at maintaining the property) and we’ll be coming from out of state, so I really didn’t want to have to be toting in tons of flowers to spruce up a venue.  They seem to be so on top of their game, and the menu selection was so impressive and the price so reasonable…. I’m so happy to hear positive reviews and that it isnt all too good to be true! haha ๐Ÿ™‚

itsslovee331:  Congrats! How exciting! I was engaged for a while and just set my date a month ago for August of this year, so I know the feeling BUT I will tell you it’s a little anti-climactic . If you’re super picky you might have trouble and take a while picking vendors but I got everything major booked in a little over two weeks. A big thing in the wedding industry is telling you things need to be done months and months in advance but believe me you will always find someone.

Anyway,,, all of my vendors were booked independantly of eachother, I didn’t really love any of the one-stop-shops and felt the people were super “salesy” but everyone has a different opinion so do what works for you. I will say bridal shows are awesome! You will find vendors you’ve never heard of and when they’re dealing with alot of brides I feel like you get a more genuine sales pitch.

After re-reading my response I feel like I was super unhelpful but congratulations! have fun! and remember that everyone’s wedding is unique, best of luck!!
