Hi ladies! I don’t know if i’m posting this in the right spot. Just wondering if anyone’s read any good books that actually helped them on being happier with themselves, more confident, happy with you the way you are, etc. I have a really hard time with this stuff and I am extremely hard on myself, sometimes I compare myself to others, and occasionally I feel really insecure… and it’s really wearing me down. I just don’t know how to change the way I am when it comes to this stuff. Any advice/input/suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Eat, Pray, Love. Not that atrocity of a movie, but the actual book, which is wonderful and uplifting. My copy is dog-eared and falling apart, I go back to it so often.

Captivating by John & Stasi Eldgredge!
It changed mine, my moms, and all the girls that come into our home for women lives!
ETA: It was the beginning of me getting out of a 5 year long abusive relationship/marriage. It’s not a “fix it in 3 easy steps” kinda book, but builds up your heart as a woman… definitely helped me to love myself more!

I don’t know how religious you are, but I find Joel Osteen to be very positive and uplifting. Zhe has some podcasts too. He honestly doesn’t have much preaching in his message, just positivity.

For me personally, I loved “So Long Insecurity” by Beth Moore.
It’s a Christian book so I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for, but I think it’s enjoyable even to people who aren’t necessarily religious.
