Maybe you could call a few local bridal salons to get their recommendations?  One might even help you out — for a fee, of course!

So, I just got back from taking my sample dress to the lady who is doing my alterations.  I had gotten it dry-cleaned before I took it to her and she actually told me that I *shouldn’t* have done it!  She said that she would have liked to see it before b/c if it wasn’t that dirty, some of the things would have been fixed in the alteration process (mine was really just dirty on the hem).  She told me to tell other people to take it to their alternation person first – have them assess what needs to be done – and then get it cleaned (if needed).

I actually had some drama with the dry cleaner and they messed up my dress a little bit, which really sucked and apparently it could have all been avoided.  So I thought I would pass the message on to anyone who might need to know!

Good luck!
