@kittwn:  PM me if you are looking to donate in Greece.  I am part of AHEPA and we regularly donate to children organizations in Greece.

@Lepidoptera:  Were your lambathes cheap?  I have family who live in Long Island close to Queens. My family said they will get what ever we need in Astoria and then bring it with them when they come into town for the wedding.  I’m debatating wheather for them to buy the lambathes or have my brother make them?

@kermitandpiggy:  I didn’t buy the lambathes, my koumarbi bought them. You’re looking at around $300-$400 depeding on the style of the lambatha. It’s not easy to make them either. I made the lambathes for my goddaughter christening:

And my sister’s wedding:

I did both with the help of my mom, lots of hot glue and at least 5+ hours of work.

@Lepidoptera:  I like both of them.  My mom and me have made lambathes for my cousins baptisms like those but my mom said for my wedding she wants the  lambathes to be huge, tall, and fat candles like the ones she had for her wedding and the ones for my brother and I’s baptism..  She can’t remember if her Koumbara/my Nouna bought them or made them.  See I was afraid of the lambathes costing that much.  I think I will just have my brother make them instead of having my family in NY buy them and my brother paying them back.   Thanks for the info.

@kermitandpiggy:  Yep totally understood! here are the lambathes they bought for us. Our’s were ginormus. When I saw them I was in aw ! lol! I cropped the picture so I don’t expose other peoples faces in the pictures.

If you want I can ask my koumbari what store they used. I am also selling extra boubounieres if you or someone else in interested. We had 50+ extra boubounieres already wrapped. They overshot the amount needed even though I told them it would be too many. Greek’s, always doing things is access!

kittwn:  woops sorry just saw your question!  I am getting married in Vasilitsi which is about 10 minutes away from Koroni, Messinians.  The nearest city is Kalamata.  How about you?
