I wore heels for the ceremony, but as soon as it was over, I kicked them off and threw on my flip flops that I bought just for our wedding! (They were in light blue, one of our colors.) I’m pretty casual, so that worked for me. I would highly recommend flats or whatever you are comfortable in!!

I never ended up wearing the running shoes even for pictures, but here are the heels and flip flops I wore!

Lol ummm YEA. I got heels that I plan to wear for ceremony and photos ONLY. I’m not even pretending I’m going to wear them for anything else. 🙂

OH! ME! ME! ME! I absolutely do. While I have the ability to rock some heels and look awesome, I adore my flats and know I will be more comfortable on the big day. I’m wearing my heels for the ceremony and pictures, and then changing into flats for the reception so I can (comfortably) dance the night away.

I’m going to try to stick it out in heels, but it’s probably always a good idea to have a backup.

I think I will just kick ’em off when I am sick of my heels! That’s a good idea though to buy flats that you will wear again. 🙂

I wish I could wear mine all night.  They are beautiful!  However, I have a vascular tumor in my right calf and the doctor told me NO heels at all….so my shoes are flats with heels are my back up.

My bridesmaids all wore white heels and I wore blue heels. I bought them white flip flops and myself blue flip flops so we all changed mid-dance. They were all so happy with the gift as well as the comfort!

I thought I might be fine in my 5″ heels because they are ridiculously comfortable. But I was dancing around in them for fun the other day and totally almost fell down a few times. It wasn’t that they hurt… it was that they are just too tall for landing safely when dancing. I am bummed but am thinking flats – or at least slightly lower heels – will be needed for the dance floor!

I wore my gold heels for pictures and for the ceremony. After the ceremony I put on flat gold gladiator sandals that I had bought. Best decision ever!

You definitely want to pack comfy backup shoes even if you think you’ll never need them.

I thought my wedding heels were “sensible” (only 2.5 inches) but by the end of the night my feet were in tatters because the shoes were rubbing against my ankles.

I was very happy to switch into flip flops toward the end of the reception.

@tinylittlebird: I have my dress fitted for heels as well. With the bustle and the fact that I’ll be picking up my dress to dance/walk regardless I’m not worried about it.

OH! And my reception is inside. If it was outside, I would find a pair of platforms or something to match the height, but since I’m not too worried about dirtying the part that will now be rubbing the dance floor, it doesn’t matter to me.
