Okay still planning on having our May wedding. If we can, we’re going to have it in my parents barn which would save tons on a venue. Were both into the 1940s era so that’s our theme but since well be getting married outside I want it vintage/rustic 40s look to it. I think the colors we like are navy, mint, and eeither peach or pink. I want to incorporate burlap into our wedding because it’s easy. I’m not sure what flowers to use for my bouquet and table decor. I wonder if it’ll look real enough to make paper flowers for my tables and real flowers for my bouquet. I’m a lover of tulips so if there is any way to at least incorporate those ill be fine with any other kinds. I’m trying to make my own place cards that have little brooch looking things attached to them and the escort cards will be Skeleton keys attached to luggage tags. Now my SO and I think it’d be great if we could use square hay bales for seating and either covering them with white fabric or burlap strips.
Now I really would like to have the reception in our barn if we can swing it so I wonder if I should buy wood to make my own little dance floor since the barn has a dirt floor. Would it make sense to have a white tablecloth on each table then a big strip of burlap along the middle of each table? I’m currently trying to make my own mason jar lanterns or candles for either lighting or decor on the tables. I’m sure when it gets closer, our family and friends will be more than willing to help but I also want to have as much DIY as I can because our families aren’t made of money. Oh and tell me if this is a good idea. At my parents house there’s not exactly good parking, so there are two churches right down the road a bit. I was thinking I could just have everyone park at tthe churches and have hired transportation bring them down in groups to the venue. Would that work? I mean we live out in the country so I’m sure it wouldn’t be an issue to ask the church if we could. Any more cute diy ideas would be great!
